Great food and great service! I'm in town on business and had pulled up The Outpost on Google from the high ratings. On my way out of the hotel I asked the front desk for a recommendation and The Outpost was said to have great food. So I have it a whirl. I had the loaded nachos which were amazing and the bartenders recommendation, which was the spicy Cajun chicken wrap and waffle fries which was also very good! If I'm back in KC again I'd definitely return.

Went here tonight while in town for baseball game. The prices were not what we expected for the $ rating. The 4 stars was not what expected. Father in law said it should be 1 star and 4 $. First time yelp reviews let me down.

A tough day of working on a house to prepare for a sale. My S-I-L did a quick Yelp search and found the Outpost nearby with great reviews. Our party of four concluded that a great burger would hit the spot so our trek began. As we followed the directions (a little more than a mile from World's Of Fun) we found the parking lot but didn't readily find the spot until a more careful look. It's not freestanding and from the east, we drove by. Look carefully. The consensus of the group was to rely on the ratings NOT the curb appeal, GREAT decision! Inside we found a very relaxed vibe (Monday, early evening) and were quickly welcomed and invited to pick a spot. Immediately a server joined us, took our drink orders, and brought drinks as well as recommendations from the menu. While I can address how the other meal choices looked, I speak with authority on my choice. I selected the Avacodo Burger with bacon add... when asked how I wanted it cooked, I specifically requested medium-rare and the prep was SPOT ON! The burger was perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and met every expectation. All four in the party left feeling that the Outspot exceeded every expectation with the service and food. A Cowboy burrito, a Rueben, and two burgers all earned rave reviews and very real consideration of returning the next night. Any knocks? Yep...Near-record heat in KC for early May and the HVAC was not functioning well. We had been outside most of the day and were looking for relief. We probably left one round early simply because the heat that evening made an otherwise delightful evening somewhat uncomfortable. It's easy for me to forgive the surroundings if the food is right, and The Outpost Bar and Grill did it RIGHT! Like Arnold, "I'll be back!"

I mainly come here to hang out with a bunch of my friends while seeing a band that has a couple more friends in it (Viking). I tend to get there a couple hours before showtime to get a decent table and have dinner. I highly recommend the Cowboy Burrito! It's huge and very tasty! The main issue I have with this place is that they only have two bartenders serving everyone so service can be very slow and sometimes forgetful when it's packed. The Outpost obviously needs to hire two or more servers just to handle so many customers especially on a show night. Hopefully that will happen soon.

I generally like The Outpost bar and grill. But this time was the worst I ordered a Reuben with onion rings and a kid's chicken strip with fries. My onion rings were burnt my French fries were made out of a rotten potato my bread was soggy. I arrived in the 15 minutes they asked me to as I sit and watch my food in the window that set for 20 minutes because the girls were busy I finally inquired only to get a snotty comment from the taller lady working. All she did was complain to the other server on how she couldn't wait on people well my suggestion is find another job there's plenty of help wanted signs out here. I understand how overwhelmed serving can be I did it for over 20 years. The only good part about the meal were the chicken strips and they were for my two pitbulls. They enjoyed them for $22 and some change it all went to the trash. Sure wasn't worth it I know my dogs enjoyed their chicken strips. I will no longer go back there with the taller woman working she is very snotty. I'm there for a service and to pay for a good meal and did not get that in return. Wish the owners of One-Eyed jacks would open One-Eyed jacks again everybody was welcome whether you were on a motorcycle bicycle scooter so sad

Had a Rueben and fries. Great flavor, nice and hot. Beer was cold and great price. They had some live entertainment. Fun and relaxing. Regulars are friendly.

It was open seating. And there was live music which was cool. It is so much better than I expected. First time there and I was impressed. Especially by the food, the food is the most important part for me and they hit it out of the park. I would try it again. And see if all food items are good.
The service was fast and outstanding. The fish and chips were tasty. They even changed the channel so we could watch the KU game

A group of 12 of us from Salina, KS came in Monday night to celebrate my birthday. We were well taken care of and the food was great! We’ll definitely recommend it to others! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming!

Revamped menu a while ago. Fettuccini Alfredo is back after a brief hiatus. Still the best cheese burger around. Top shelf bloody mary has an appetizers worth of food on top of it. Chicken fried chicken is awesome. So is the cowboy burrito, steaks, fish n chips, totchos are ridiculously good ... actually have never had a bad meal here.
