Everything seemed super fresh - both in flavor and menu creation. Very “cool” and trendy vibe, but also down to earth and personable. Great local spot! Highly recommend the poblano spinach dip!!Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten-free and vegan options.

Was looking for a place to get some fish for lent for my wife while on our anniversary trip to KC. We found this place, and boy, did it not disappoint. All our plates were incredible. The Poblano spin dip was amazing, the Kale salad was awesome, and the fish and chips were incredible. It seemed everything was made in-house, including the ketchup!

The food was delicious! We watched our server check on all the tables around us that were hers, but literally walked right by ours. Someone else brought our food and another kind server got us some coffee refills. We sw our server when she too our order and when she brought our check. All the other servers were promptly checking on their patrons. Needless to say, we did tip (only 15%), but when service is good, we usually tip 20-25%. Pretty disappointed.

Specifically the fried portobello sandwich was great, with a nice contrast of textures and flavors. Shout out to the fried chicken sandwich which also was well prepared and tasty. We also had the gespacho watermelon/tomato soup which was super refreshing. The drinks were okay but expensiveThe elote tater tots were tasty, but not as reminiscent of the flavoring as we expected. Overall was a positive experience for us when we dined in.

The appetizers were good- we had the Brussels sprouts and tater tots. The entrees were okay, honestly we weren't super impressed especially at the price point they were at. I had the vegetarian avocado tacos and they were dry and boring. For dessert we had the vegan chocolate creme brulee and we weren't fans, probably because it used carob chips and was very bitter. Overall, not bad but felt overpriced.

I love Westside Local. I had something I had not had before the Grilled Cheese and tomato soup. The tomato soup was wonderful. The grilled cheese was very, very messy and nothing special. I thought it was supposed to have Brie in it but I didn't taste any Brie. I'll keep coming to Westside Local but will never order Grill Cheese again. Also, I noted on the reservation that I was taking a friend for lunch for her birthday. As it turned out she was having a hectic, stressful day at work and bowed out of the lunch after I arrived. Why do you ask if it is a special occasion if you don't do anything? Were you going to give her a dessert?
This is our 2nd year working with Brandon and Nicki for our Volleyball Team's group dinner order. They are always so responsive and efficient. Their food is delicious. Nicki delivered to the Convention Center and was on time which I really appreciated since we were in the middle of a tournament. Nobody's order was missing (we ordered 15 items) which was also appreciated and everything was labeled with everyone's name. We cannot wait to go back to Kansas City in 2025 and order from The Westside Local again. Thank you Nicki and Brandon!

Unfortunately this place has changed over the last few years. Environment is no longer classy, urban bistro, more like a dining hall. Prices are too high for quality and service. This place used to be intimate, but now is loud and slow service.
