To start off, the restaurant was busy. The greeter was extremely rude (1 star) from our first interaction until she took my payment. We were seated in a back corner off of the main room. After we were seated and given chips, no one came by for about 20 minutes. I finally poked my head around the corner to flag someone down. The manager came over and I mentioned no one had helped us and he came over and took over our table. He did a great job (5 stars) and our food was pretty good.
This is, in my opinion, the best Mexican cuisine Lee’s Summit has to offer, dine in with some of the finest service and friendly family atmosphere or get it to go, with spot on food at a fair price. I encourage everywhere to be more like this establishment.

Great little mexican restaurant. The inner rooms are great for noise suppression so easy to converse. Main rooms are a little noisy. Food is above average and the happy hour margaritas are great prices and quite tasty even if a little weaker than regular hours.

My husband, 2 kids and I really love Carmen’s and drive 30 minutes per way to eat there! They have really wonderful food, we often get the fajitas. The environment doesn’t scream Mexico, like some restaurants but is always clean and fast paced. Service is good, although we have to ask for things (napkins, to go boxes, check) more often than most.Parking: There’s plenty of parking from one section of the lot to the other. We sometimes park across the lot, but it is not too heavy traffic. The parking lot is shaped like a 9 and Carmen’s is in the middle, with a lot more parking on one side than the other. The other shops aren’t too busy.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs AND boosters, for the in between kids. You will likely have to ask for extra napkins when you have kids.

I did carry out and dine in. My carry out order was ready in five minutes. I left and came back to dine in for my daughter's birthday. Our server was Non attentive. She tried to take our orders with no menu's. We had no silverware for our food, after waiting 45 mins. We had to ask for more chips and salsa. And get up to get our own togo boxes. I will never go back, because after talking to management about our service, I was offered free cheese dip on my next visit. We spent $100 all together and this is how we were treated. Our server was really nice and talkative to the other guest that weren't African American. My daughter had a whole Tiara on that said happy birthday and she was never Acknowledged or offered ice cream on her birthday thanks Carmen's Cantina!

Chicken fahajita quesadillas were the worst mushy dish ever ordered there with everything slopping together. It has to be really bad for me to leave a negative review because I know one issue doesnt make it bad but this was horrible.. There are too many Mexican restaurants in Lees Summit to such a bad meal....unfortunately, we will not be back.
