Love Gus’s . French fries and Cole slaw was excellent as always. We tried the Chicken Sandwich today and were very disappointed. The meat was very tough to chew.We won’t order that again. Otherwise, the rest was good.

There’s nothing like walking in to a place that feels like you’re not a stranger! I’m so picky about potato salad… and theirs reminds me of my mommas! I think what I love most is that if you door dash with them, your food is delivered in a tamper proof safety bag I LOVE that! I’ll choose Gus’ over KFC any day!

The service is great and the food is AMAZING. The fried chicken is so tender juicy and full of flavor. Just enough spice that lets you know it's there but doesn't take away from the flavor. Our server was very attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed. The place is clean and the overall feel is relaxed. Fantastic place for fried chicken oh my, oh my. So, so good!

Wonderful experience!! Nevaeh was my waitress and not sure who the male manager was but he was very attentive with the needs of the people. Nevaeh was attentive as well! Food was hot and fresh. I will definitely be back!!

Most my Google reviews are very positive, but this is one isn't one. This was our first time at the restaurant, and we've never been treated so poorly by a manager. Sometimes an apology goes a long way. What doesn't work is making guests feel they are in the wrong. I can't recommend this place.I had high hopes for this place. We even had friends that had a good experience, unfortunately we didn't. This evening at the Lee's Summit location we came in before 6pm. At the time there were only 3 other tables and a couple people waiting for carry-out. We ordered an appetizer and 2 sodas to start off. We then ordered two of the Daily Specials of Chicken breast and sides. More families came in as it was becoming the dinner rush. As time went on the tables around us started getting their meals. We asked how long it would be for our meals. We were told a couple minutes. Finally 15 minutes later we had our food after 45 minutes from ordering. We know the time frame based on the text my fiance sent her friend that recommended Gus's.We asked to talk to the manager and a haspanic man approched our table. His words "I hear you have a problem". This wasn't what I was expecting coming from a manager. We explained the timing issue. His response was you ordered chicken breast and that's why it took so long. It was hard to beleive that no one else ordered the special and that's why they got their meals first. The manager got very defensive as if we were the ones in the wrong. He grabbed the ticket off the table and said you'll get your discount. He never apologized and made us feel that we were trying to scam the restaurant.

We had an amazing experience! The food was hot and fresh. The service was fantastic! Xavier was amazing in answering all our questions. Our drinks were never below half. The fried pickles were probably the best pickles I have ever had. They were crispy and delicious. The atmosphere was homey and like a southern diner. 10/10 recommend!
