“My sister and her husband live in Liberal, and I requested Mary’s to send a Happy Birthday surprise with my brother in law’s breakfast this morning. She said that she would send a balloon. She did not disappoint!!!?A huge hummingbird balloon with the happy birthday balloon!?”

“Our accommodation nearby (Atlantis) did not offer food, despite breakfast being included when we booked on booking.com, so we were lucky to be sent to this bakery/cafe for breakfast every day during our three-day stay in Plakias as the hotel has an arrangement. The breakfasts served by owner Maria and her staff were superb: amazing choice, superbly presented, enormous portions, fantastic coffee and fresh juices etc. The cafe is right on the seafront with free parking outside, has been recently modernised and has beautiful decor, excellent Wi-Fi and wonderful views across Plakias Bay towards Souda. Cannot recommend it highly enough - just go, you will not be disappointed.”

“You simply must go to experience the ambience of a bygone era. There are just so many decorative chickens to look at. I also loved the retro video games, and the glass telegraph insulators. I ordered the mozzarella sticks. They were bad. I tasted my friend's fries; fantastic. One of my dining companions reports that the fried chicken was fabulous. The other said the best thing on her plate was the German cole slaw. Service was great. The women's restroom was unpleasant. I was really bummed that they had run out dessert. It was the only thing I wanted.”

“We've been eating at Mary's for years and it has been amazing. There was a decline in food quality about a year ago for a couple months but everything is back to like it always has been. Great onion rings, the chicken is amazing, I love the German slaw and the livers and gizzard are the best. Thank you for the consistently great food through the years.”
