Friendly, pleasant atmosphere for sit down or take out. I love their Japanese pasteries as well as their sourdough loaves. They offer high quality green tea and many drinks like avocado smoothies and milk taro using fresh taro in that drink. I highly recommend this wonderful family business.

Got the portuguese egg tart. It was so good! It's bigger than a normal egg tart and very flaky but not too sweet. Will come back and try other baked goods!

Came today to pick up purple yogurt drink with mango. I didn't realize they have large size. It was delicious as usual.

Coffee (latte) was WAY too hot, Had to wait 15 min before I could drink it. Cash register is slow and inefficient. Owner needs to think of a better way to handle and ring up goods. Bakery goods were fine. POSTSCRIPT COMMENT TO OWNER. COFFEE... The coffee was much hotter than 150. If you are using a thermometer, you are doing it wrong. You should judge milk temperature by hand, thermometers are erratic and they "lag". I had to wait several minutes before I could even tolerate the smallest sip. BUSY DAY? Yes, but that reinforces the need for you to rethink how you manage the cash register. Perhaps having QR codes or scanable labels on each package?. The person at the cash register had to go through multiple actions to ring up a total, which made the whole process slow. .

***updated review***Came here yesterday to pick up some drinks and bakery. The store was neat and clean as always. They were quite busy when I walked in but the owner Ray came to the counter to take my order pretty quickly. I used to come here for the Taro Milk, but my current favorite was the Purple Rice Yogurt with Mango drink. It's delicious and tasted similar like Vietnamese dessert - sua chua nep cam, but in a fruity side. I also got the Purple Rice Yogurt with Blueberry and Pasteis De Nata for my girlfriend, and she absolutely loved both items. My partner got his usual Chai Latte with Oatmilk - very aromatic and the sweetness just right. Bakery and drinks here are not overly sweet. We've been happy with our order and service here.Original ReviewAbsolutely love The Foundry Bakery. We come here almost every week for bakery or tea. My favorite is Portuguese egg tart!!! Customer service here is awesome!!! The owner is super friendly and remember us by name. Highly recommended!

I'm so happy to finally find a good Taiwanese bakery in STL! This breakfast sandwich was amazing, you can definitely taste the freshness of the bread, lettuce and tomato. The egg was refreshingly light and airy yet filling! I will be back for more! The service was outstanding as the owners are incredibly hospitable and warm!

Courteous, helpful service. Boba a new experience for me. Took time to explain and choose a terrific flavor. No gf, but had to taste the egg tart. So much yummy filling! Nice place to sit with your boba, relax and enjoy a leisurely casual space and take a look at all the beautiful pastries to give a try.

The Foundry Bakery is a gem with its wide array of boba, coffee, and teas. Ray, the owner, is an absolute sweetheart who shared his top picks with us, including his latest creation: a purple rice/yogurt smoothie that's not only great for your gut but also gets a delightful sweetness when paired with fruit. Trust me, it may sound odd, but I slurped up the whole thing and can't wait to have it again! My friends went for the iced coffee and matcha, which were equally delightful. One of the best parts? You get a choice of boba without any extra charge! I wasn't very hungry, but I couldn't resist their famous egg tarts--crispy on the outside with a creamy, creme-brulee-like filling. Even though it was from the display, it was fresh and warm. The restaurant is a bit tricky to find, but once inside it is spacious, with lots of natural lighting & makes the perfect work/study spot. Can't wait for my next visit to The Foundry Bakery!

Amazing breads and pastries. I had never tried Taiwanese pastries before so my partner and I got 4-5 to sample along with a walnut bread. Loved all of them, but the crispy orange roll was my favorite. We also ordered a matcha tea and coffee. Was glad that they had an assortment of non-dairy milks, and that you can adjust your sweetness level. Everyone that worked there was very helpful and nice. We’ve gone back a few times since and will definitely be back more. So happy this place popped up close to our neighborhood!
