I've eaten at over a hundred Waffle Houses, starting in the mid nineties; this is the best one yet. I got the old-school, enthusiastic, "Welcome to Waffle House" greeting. Everything looked clean and tidy. The men's room was spotless. The waiter was friendly, cheerful, and knew what he was doing. The food was cooked to their best standard. The juke box volume wasn't too loud. There's nothing negative to say. Given the poor state of most restaurants these days, visiting this Waffle House had almost a dreamlike quality about it. I ate there around midnight, Thursday, 3/14/24. Left a $20 tip.
Single person, quick service at the counter. Great friendly service!

I've been to a lot of WHs throughout the southern states so I pretty much know what I want before I sit down. Many I go to are somewhat lacking in service or just a feeling of homeliness, it's kind of like a truck stop usually. Anyhow, sometime the food isn't the best but it's usually quick and filling and that's kind of what you want on the road. Anyhow, long story short, the WHs in the O'Fallon and Wentzville area off of I-70 are probably the best I have been to. The staff is incredibly friendly and efficient and the food was excellent, even by any diner standards. The hash browns were not greasy or soggy, they were crisp and delicious. The waffles were great, heck I even liked the toast with just butter. The coffee was yummy and they refilled often. So if you are looking for a quick bite off of I-70 west coming out of St Louis, I recommend the Waffle Houses in O'Fallon and Wentzville. Also the men's bathroom was spotless! Two thumbs up!
