I have hesitated to write this because I have eaten here often and always suggest it to my friends or out of town guests, but my experience recently was very disappointing. My guest and I ordered the market board for an appetizer and it came out with very oversized food. Big carrots, (which were very undercooked)two big pieces of broccoli, lots of very dry hard bread and the hummus had no taste. The okra was good but only 3 small pieces. It really looked like it was thrown on the board. For dinner I talked my friend into the chicken and dumplings, stating I’d had it several times and always had to get a to go box due to getting too full on it quickly with a lot left over. When they brought the order out it barely covered the bottom of the dish. I questioned the waiter on why there was so little in the bowl and we were told that the head chef was working and was telling the cooks or line to give less to save on food cost. Plus there was 4 more pieces of the very hard dry bread on top of the dish. I don’t remember getting that before. I’m sure it was there for a filler. Food service is one thing that doesn’t change with time. At the point I showed concern the waiter should of reached out to a manager and the manager should of approached our table. The service and food was not worth my $100 tab that night. I’m hoping this is a one time experience.

We had a family dinner for 11. The roasted chicken was too dry to eat. One person ordered the fried catfish. I asked how it was and he replied "ok". Apparently not since he left more than half of it. We expected better.

First, the setting and building are beautiful. Exactly what you would expect from a Johnny Morris property. Just fabulous. The food, however...I've read review after review here and they have the same theme: under-seasoned, poorly prepared food. I just don't get why they aren't fixing this? So many comments from management about sharing this info with the food and beverage team, but nothing is changing. My dad and I had these huge slabs of catfish that were undercooked, under-seasoned and basically inedible. We both left about 90%. The slaw was...sorry, but it was disgusting. I did like the teensy potato chips. But that's about all the good I can say about it.

We ordered appetizers to dessert and enjoyed every bite. It’s a beautiful setting and an interesting story behind the farm. Service was excellent.

I took a highschool classmate from 1960 to the Mill as a surprise. we certainly got one. While the atmosphere met expectations the rest of our visit was very disappointing. We were there for Happy Hour. Leave it to say that the server we had made a real effort he needed more traning. The worst part of the visit was the food. We ordered two items from the menu that we found to be terrible. How you screw up a chip and dip is a real question. But they screwed it up monumentally. I assure you this was my last visit ever.

So the wait for 2 white old people is 10 minutes, but for an interracial family with small kids an hour? Doesn't really make too much sense, but maybe I am missing something. My reason for only one star is the attitude of the hesteses when I asked them to please make sure that we get a good table, not somewhere in the corner by the bathroom ( tends to happen lately). I don't think I was asking for too much to get talked to, like I am crazy. I had high hopes for this place, but there are others around.

Worth the drive to experience the architecture and attention to detail in restoring the mill into a restaurant. The food had fresh vegetables and fruit. We will travel and eat here again.

Am writing 2 reviews because each of us had very different opinions about this place. Mine is this one. Advertised on the interstate but we saw, if they were there we couldn't find anything when we got off the highway. We saw a sign pointing and we went the direction. Drove to a small town, saw nothing and turned around. As it happened we needed a restroom before continuing. We parked, when in, and coming out saw the place almost directly across from us. We had to wait as we were walk-ins, so be aware of that. We waited and wandered the building. When we were seated the server came over quickly. We ordered it took more time than is normal, but recognized it wasn't a typical 'off the interstate type place. I ordered the Mill Hamburger, the description made it interesting. Need to say the coffee was better than average and HOT! I enjoyed my meal. As expected the flavor was different but i enjoyed my meal. There was certainly enough as I didn't completely finish it. I might have been looking for it again when we travel this way, but her review is much different.

My experience with Finley Farms has been nothing but perfection. I visited one of their restaurants for my birthday, and my boyfriend and I took a gander at their Thursday night farmers market. Both were incredibly fun, and the sheer beauty of the Finley Farms grounds made it that much more enjoyable.

It's really nice to see this local landmark fixed up and useful again.I had the trout and morell risotto from the "mini" menu (seasonal dishes). It was pricey at $34, but it was a treat, and delicious. Our server, Andrew, was great and really seemed to know the menu.Already recommended to my family who live more locally.
