The service and the bar were great. The food was not edible. We each ordered a medium-rare streak, my wife the filet and I the prime rib. When the food finally arrived, my wife's steak was burned to a crisp on the outside and overdone in the inside. My prime rib arrived grilled and well done. We quickly explained to the attentive waitress the steaks were overcooked and she said the kitchen would prepare new ones. The manager came out and we explained again the problem with the steaks. I asked why the prime rib was grilled, and she said they cook it to rare, and then finish on the grill. I suspect this prime rib was cooked at least a day in advance. We explained to our waitress we had a time limit, and 20 minutes later when the food still hadn't arrived, I gave her my credit card to pay and we asked her to just box them up and we would take them home. Several more minutes passed and I finally went to the server station to find out what was going on so we could leave. By this time, we were already late in leaving the restaurant. The steaks were still not done, so the waitress said she would get the manager to take them off the bill. When I got the bill, all of the food was still on there. I told the manager we would be happy to pay for our drinks and service, but didn't feel comfortable paying for food we could not eat and replacements we never received. She claimed my wife ate her side. All she had was three bites of her potato. I had none. The manager was extremely rude and finally just took everything off the bill and we left still hungry. We have been disappointed with this restaurant several times over the past couple of years, and this is the final time. It used to be that the service was terrible but the food was good. Now the service is good but you can't eat the food. It's a shame because this restaurant is beautiful and has a wonderful view overlooking the Missouri river. But it clearly suffers from management issues. I don't think we can ever go back.

Beautiful restaurant but the very limited valentines menu was disappointing. This menu just doesn't make sense to me. They have a full menu on busy weekends so why not offer the same menu on holidays!!? The food offered was bland at best. Won't be back

Lovely evening with delicious cocktails & beautiful live harp music playing in the background. The Gorgonzola crème brûlée and oysters Rockefeller were delectable and the lobster bisque delicious. However, the next two courses of our prix fixe were a disappointment. The mushroom ravioli was bland and flavorless. One could not denote any of flavor of mushroom and the pink sauce was lovely but imparted no flavor or cheese...maybe just cream. The chocolate cream puffs and coffee soaked angel food cake were palatable but could have been so much better. Our waitress, service and drinks were great and the ambience lovely but the food a disappointment.

We came for the Valentine's dinner and it was absolutely fantastic. The bistro was so tastefully appointed, the food was nothing short of fantastic, and the service was INCREDIBLE.

With a 5:15 reservation, we were there before it got busy, and waited an hour and a half for our food. One oder was a sandwich and the rest were just salads! The food was good and the atmosphere was beautiful, but everyone who came in after us had their to go boxes before we even got our food. Our server didn't seem to know much about the menu. She gave us no information and we had to ask everything. (What's the soup of the day? What are the specials? Do you have decaf?” Since the menu changes the server has to tell you the things that the menu does not. We felt like we were playing 20 Questions. She knew nothing about the wines (and it's at a winery) or the cocktails. For almost every question we were told that she would have to go find out. BTW, the “steakhouse salad” does not have steak. It's a salad that is “typically served with a steak”.

A beautifull evening in a fantastic setting. For us a special occasion which we both suggest everyone should experience. The food and service was great, the desert seemed for the moment SINFULL! A suggestion would be to expect the room to be just a bit too cool.

It tries to be a fancy restaurant but falls a bit short. Service was horrible but food was good. Ordered the prime rib brunch special and was informed 30 minutes later that they were out. Our reservation was for 11 am and already gone? Bad planning. Then I settled for a burger, and it came out with wife's food 20 minutes later, but her food was cold, like it had been ready since my prime rib was supposed to have been ready. We were there for over an hour before we got our food.

Love the French-inspired menu! We enjoyed a wonderful prime rib dinner accompanied by a bottle of the Norton. The beef was cooked perfectly and the garlic baked potato was really good. The gorgonzola cheesecake was a perfect appetizer and the caramel apple flan was a delicious dessert. The service was really great, despite several large parties having arrived before us. I highly recommend the Bistro for a fabulous dinner or group gathering.

We were fairly disappointed in our evening. The menu had been revamped and it just wasn't near as good as it once was. The new Gorgonzola cheesecake was pretty terrible. I'm not sure what they were thinking changing it. The gnocchi special tasted like a chicken salad and most of our filet meal was too charred to taste much. It was likely the end of an era after so many birthdays here. We had a good run!

Sunday brunch at The Bistro was fantastic! I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the chicken and waffle special. Both meals were delicious. Food was served in a timely manner, our waitress was very attentive, the river view by the window was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. FYI-the Bloody Mary was top notch! Would highly recommend The Bistro for an amazing brunch.

I've been here a few other times but this visit was by far the best. Our server Esther was fantastic - very knowledgeable and a great personality. The cocktails were fantastic, and the beef stew was incredibly good. I think some of the dishes are a little overpriced here, but the stew was priced well. We sat at a table right next to the window and it was a beautiful sunset. Highly recommend!

Food was mediocre and not brunch food at all, no breakfast items offered. Eaten there may times over the years, and has been outstanding, but was very disappointed in the brunch menu.

Our waiter was really nice other staff were polite, food was ok but very overpriced, for the price I expected wait staff and guests to be dressed up but many people wore jeans, sweatshirts and leggings. mixed drinks were and wine was reasonably priced. my chair was wobbly. Overall we had a nice time my family enjoyed the experience, maybe give guest directions on how to get back to columbia since the overpass is under construction. I dont live in the area but I would come again next I will try the brunch

Disappointed

Seated where the sun was so blinding I had to wear sunglasses and hold a menu over my face. It was impossible to visit with the family who had traveled over 100 miles to have this meal with us. I developed a bad headache. There were several tables open; asked to be seated elsewhere and this was flatly refused. The waitress said "oh, the sun will be lower in the sky soon...." Well it wasn't. Our guests asked to please be seated where there was a nice view - again several tables open the whole time we were there. Flatly refused. The waitress said they were trying to be as accommodating as possible. I've had more considerate accommodation at a fast food restaurant.

From the start of our visit we did not feel particularly welcomed. Service at our table started ok but ended with a long wait for final bill. Food was average and not worth the cost.
