All I can say is fantasic food every time I go there

Food was pretty good!!! Prices are higher than you'd expect but it's super clean and fancy inside. Our waitress was extremely accommodating and patient and took the time to explain everything we had questions about on the menu. Although I did ask for the biggest sized and most tender steak and was recommended one of the toughest and smallest ones I don't recommend the kc striploin especially if you like it medium well. The Delmonico was OUTSTANDING and super flavorful and tender, perfectly cooked to medium well. Smoked salmon and crab dip wasn't the greatest and the bread could've been crisper, as they were too soft to dip ,but the shrimp cakes were to die for! And I don't like shrimp also the rolls they serve are some of the best I've ever had, ask for honey!!! You won't regret it

It was our first time at Flame! We went Downstairs to the red room and wow, certainly not disappointed. It was our 11 yr anniversary. The aged tbone steak was the most tender steak I've ever eaten. Add fried oysters and lobster spinach dip with an ending of creme brulee and it was the prefect celebration of taste! Our server Maddy guided us through the whole experience with ease, elegance and a wonderful personality that makes us want to come back for more just to have her serve us again. She made our anniversary extremely special with that personal touch. Her knowledge of what Flame had to offer was extraordinary! What a treat, on top of a romantic atmosphere and amazing flavors!!! Definitely our go to place for special events and the perfect steak in Springfield, Mo!! Thank you Maddy for the delightful experience!

I had a great server, delicious popovers, good calamari, but the 24 oz porterhouse itself was ... off While it was cooked perfectly to temp, it didn't taste like an exceptionally good quality meat I expected from the steakhouse. Seasoning was good, but the meat was a little lackluster.

Came here while traveling through town based on Yelp reviews. Very underwhelmed by it. I wanted to love it with the amazing atmosphere and attention to details but the food was just okay. Sour cream on baked potato wasn't good and steak was cooked but nothing like a ribeye should taste. Maybe order something else? Customer service was outstanding!

So, here's the deal. My little brother had his baptism on a Friday night. It was really special and we wanted to go out for dinner, and we immediately headed for Flame. When we got there, we were greeted and swiftly sent up to eat. The food was delicious and we stayed for so long, people we starting to stare. Our waiter was extremely kind, he helped us with everything we needed, and he was even funny, his name was Zack. I asked because I told him that he would have to get a raise or something, he deserved it. Overall, Flame made that night perfect, and I couldn't thank them anymore then I already have, but I'll find a way!

A few friends and I ate at flame while we were visiting Springfield. Overall, it's one of the better options for upscale dining in Springfield, and had a very good wine list. A friend had recommended the restaurant, but I didn't do any research on what was good or not. Generally, I am suspicious of seafood dishes in the middle of the United States, because you know it had to be shipped from somewhere else and who knows the route it took. There's plenty of lakes around here, but no local fish. Also, I asked where the escargot were from, and they were from Indonesia! Gulp! But of course, this place specializes in steaks. The bone in filet, which was their top option, definitely had a nice flavor. The presentation was a bit boring considering all sides come on the side and they have a huge plate for a relatively small piece of steak. But I guess that is somewhat traditional at the large steak houses. The steaks were generally cooked correctly, but more towards the rear side of what people ordered. At the end of the day, it's better to be more rare than overcooked. As for sides, the Lyonnais potatoes were the crispiest I had ever had, almost like those tiny crispy potato french fries at the bottom of a McDonald's fries container. The Fried mushrooms did not really seem fried to me, as they had no breading just sauce on them. They do you have a nice bread service with fresh popovers that I enjoyed.

I've looked online to send email to the owner and have not been able to find.. I went to Char and Flame in the last couple months and had to send the food back, both times and couldn't even finish the dishes I ordered. I'm bringing friends visiting to eat and it's upsetting and expensive to say the least. As a non meat eater, I order the vegetable sides, (while other guest orders the oyster or meat) that at one time were amazing. (Something is very off now) This food used to be amazing. Even the French fries are not even worth eating. Are you cutting costs on fries? Those twice battered fries are not what is expected when eating in a nice place like this. Horrible. Please bring back the fresh French fries you used to serve, like a year ago. French fries can't be that hard to mess up.. The ones you have now are like fast food style. The other ones can't be that more expensive to purchase for restaurant. I didn't want to leave a bad star rating to be mean, but you really should have an email listed. If you get back with me with your email I will delete this review. Just had to say something because it was a rather horrible experience to dine out and leave hungry and $150 short.

From a food and drink perspective, Flame operates at a very high level. My recent visit here (11/10/21) though was just a bit disappointing because our server was a bit too casual, both in his presentation and service delivery. The evening was to celebrate a birthday (which I made clear in the comments field of my reservation request weeks earlier - its called coordination-FOH talking to BOH) and the timing of the meal left something to be desired. Oyster and appetizer plates stood way too long on the table, and our wine was opened (shaky wine service) well after the steaks had arrived. It was also quite odd when the server just drops the check on the table only a few minutes after clearing the entree plates-we look at him strangely, as if to say, "you might have asked us if we're having dessert (he did not), and if you didn't know, its a birthday, so, yes, we're definitely having dessert." To ownership-its not enough to have great steaks and a great wine list. It matter how those things are delivered. Given the tab, you need to tighten it up a bit, please. PA

Amazing!! You get what you pay for here. Amazing food, Great service and an ambiance similar to a speak easy...warm, inviting a great place to unwind and relax. I had the Delmonico Rid Eye aged about 20 days or so (?) it was plenty for me.. cheers!!

This restaurant's service quality for large groups (10+) is horrible. Our reservation was made in advance for a special event. Server was not attentive, poor memory of everyone's order, spilled multiple drinks my guests ordered, alcohol beverages weren't prepared properly, and our food was not delivered at the same for everyone at table. Additionally, food was not very palatable. If you plan on spending several hundred or more on a steakhouse dinner, please consider another restaurant that values its guests.
