We were greeted at the door quickly and seat immediately. The server took our drink order and was back with the drinks in a flash. We ordered our food and munched on chips. We didn't have to wait long before the food arrived. The food was tasty enough for mid-west Mexican.

The food is good, but I always order Chili Relanos and they are always cold in the middle, a big disappointment. Also I order to go alot and when I get home w my food, side items like tortillas or tacos are missing. The salsa is pretty bland here, but it is most places. Smaller portion sizes and less garnishes than before it was closed for the 'remodel' a couple years ago. The place is always cold when I eat there, I bring a sweater. Someone posted that they don't have vegetarian options, but they do. I do love that they have booth type seating, creates a little privacy at least. I really miss the el charro on the north side. I ate at the new place there and didn't like it.

The food was overpriced and poor quality. I could have gotten better tacos at taco bell. Plus they messed up the order completely and kinda got an attitude about it. All in all it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a so called Mexican restaurant

Pricey for the amount of food, but tasted good.

Good food and service. Nice surprise.Go for the daily special or something on the menu. We tried both and were pleased. The decor was a little dated but it wasn't busy unlike some other trendy places in town. Very little wait time and good food. We'll be back again.

I have been a big supporter of El Charro anywhere I find them. Whether it's here in Springfield or somewhere in Kansas, you can't go wrong with this bunch. More than fair prices, REAL good authentic food, and some even deliver themselves. Enjoy.

The food was very good. Portions seemed a little on the smaller side for the price point. One of the members of our party got a pop and it tasted weird. Overall, it was a good experience.

We bought a bottle drink from the lolly and pop store and they opened our bottles. How nice of them.

Ok, this should be a 6 star review. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Food was awesome! It is very difficult to find a place that serves Mojarra Frita, and thier's is great! Margarita's are made from scratch and are now amoung the short list I have of reality top notch. Our very courteous waiter even brought me a bowl of sliced jalepeños to put in my drink, as well as fulfilled my request for a spicier salsa. Their homemade guajillo peper salsa was a special treat. They seated us outdoors as requested, and we had the patio to ourselves instead of inside the busy seating area.

Good service good food except instead of chicken burritos and enchiladas we got beef ordered regular Coke and got a Diet Coke. A good place I would recommend it

I ordered tamales with rice and guacamole. Everything was cold when I got it. The tamales looked sloppy and were already falling apart. They were pastey and slimy. The rice was awful. Everything was so poorly done I'm ashamed to even have spent money here. You couldn't pay me to come back.

Salsa smelled and tasted like spaghetti sauce but the service was good and people were nice. Food was alright. Social distancing was being used and masks required, so that's a plus.

Absolutely wonderful authentic food. Huge portions, couldn't even finish my plate :)

Love the food here. Don’t really eat a lot of Mexican food but highly recommend this place. First time eating a burrito and it was delicious!!!
