Gave it a try. Gave up and went some place else. Menu was blah. Hoped for more. Would have loved to see one entree that was a little adventurous or exciting.

With two out of town guests and my wife I made reservations for Wednesdays evening meal. I chose this restaurant for the atmosphere and it generally is uncrowded during the week except for the bar. The lighting suits my taste and it's very conducive to conversation. The menu is expensive and only for the Rich and Famous. The evening got off to a poor start when a couple with a large service dog was seated right beside our table while at the time we were the only ones in the restaurant. This show's a real lack of knowledge and experience on the part of the host . I ordered Nicola's fave pasta and was disappointed in both the portion and it was served warm, not hot. There is usually enough to take home for the following days lunch and helps justify the cost but I was able to finish my portion and was in fact still hungry and so I filled up with bread. The waitress asked who she should present the check to and my guest spoke up first. I objected and told the waitress I had made the reservation and I expected to pay the check. She overruled me and my out of town guests ended up paying for the meal. I should have asked for the manager but in my exasperation failed to do so. The embarrassment this did to me will preclude me from returning. However I do recommend the restaurant if you enjoy a quieter evening with conversation being much easier than at other venues. I would never recommend the server whose name I didn't get.

Good atmosphere, very good food, usually great service. Recommend for a special night out or a romantic date night.

We Arrived 10 minutes early for our 7 o’clock booking for 7 people. It was our daughter’s 31st birthday and she wanted to go here. When we arrived the blonde maître Dee said it would just be a few minutes because the party before us was just leaving. As we were standing there, waiting, another crowd comes in, and several other couples and the couples were seated. The owner comes out and speaks with someone from the other big group. Shakes hands and said, don’t worry they can handle it. Long story short when our table was done and ready. A young man maître de came out and gave the group our table. They apologized to us. But we still stood there for over 45 minutes. Our grandson fell asleep on the floor. Finally, after several complaints from us. They got an empty table. And we still had to sit and wait another 20 minutes before we got water and bread. Finally, our waitress came around got us drinks and we ordered food. After arriving at 7 o’clock. It was 835. We got bread. And not till almost 9 before we even got our appetizers. We ordered the bruschetta was not thrilled at all about it. They also stated that they had ran out of mashed potatoes. My husband, daughter, and son-in-law, all ordered steaks. And my husband and daughter got mashed potatoes but son-in-law did not. He got pasta on the side. When he was the one when we ordered said that’s about the only thing he’ll eat is mashed potatoes. The vegetables were undercooked, and all steaks were rare when two were ordered medium rare, and one well done. I had the pasta and seafood. And it was very good and tasty. Overall for the prices that they charged, this was not worth it at all! Very disappointed on service and food preparation.Parking: Definitely not enough parking. Have to park at the strip mall, parking and walk to restaurant.

We had my parents' 50th anniversary gathering there and it was really good. This was my first time there, and I have lived in Springfield for almost 20 years. I would definitely go back. The chef came out and made sure everything was being taken care of and even joked around with us.Dietary restrictions: We had family with gluten and dairy restrictions, and they said the food was good also.Wheelchair accessibility: My mom is in a wheelchair and she had no issues getting in or using the restroom.

The ravioli special was tough, bland and served lukewarm. Bread was also cold and the spread was mouth coating margarine. Caesar dressing was sweet, tasted exactly like thousand island. The drinks were fine. Two drinks, 6 ravioli and an inedible salad was $95, including a tip. This place is a big no.

The food here is very good. The service? Well let me tell ya. The waitress, Alyson T was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. It was my father's birthday and she made it enjoyable.

Absolutely insanely good! The prices are high, but you get what you pay for: the portions are good, and the flavors are like a symphony in your mouth. The staff is all very friendly, and they did a good job spoiling us!

We ordered the Bruschetta and I was very disappointed. I was clearly not freshly made and had no Basil. I ordered the duck. For the price it was plated poorly. The plate was drowned the berry sauce. Nothing special about mashed potatoes. The duck tasted good as did the sauce sauce. My wife had the Nicola pasta which she really liked. It wasn't busy when we were there but we only saw our server to order and to pay.

Not an expansive menu, but what they do have on there they do very well.Update 12/23: Nicola's Ristorante in Springfield, Missouri, stole my heart with its delightful blend of culinary flair and warm ambiance! ??The menu: Nicola's is a symphony of Italian flavors, from melt-in-your-mouth pastas like the Penne Alla Vodka to heartier delights like the duck and pork shank. Every dish is a celebration of fresh, seasonal ingredients, and the portions are generous enough to share (or not, I won't judge!).The service: The staff at Nicola's is as warm and inviting as the atmosphere itself. They're attentive without being intrusive, and their passion for the food shines through in every recommendation. I felt like a valued guest, not just a customer. The atmosphere: Nicola's has a certain je ne sais quoi that makes you feel like you've stepped into a charming trattoria in Tuscany. The soft lighting, the comfy booths, and the gentle hum of conversation create a space that's perfect for a romantic evening or a lively gathering with friends. ✨Nicola's Ristorante has earned a top spot on my list of Springfield favorites. It's a place where good food and good company come together to create an unforgettable dining experience.P.S. Don't forget to save room for the homemade tiramisu – it's pure heaven!

I had the bruschetta and meatball appetizer, seafood ravioli, and tiramisu. The ravioli was one of the recommended specials, I just felt it had a little too much salt and needed more acidity. The tiramisu was more of a berry than a coffee liqueur dessert. I appreciated it all, just had different expectations. The server was lovely in her customer service!
