Half my order was wrong. Didn't get crawfish or fried oysters. Just a bunch of shrimp. Found a bug in my fries. Never again. Sides were terrible. No cheese on the Mac n cheese. Green beans straight from a can. Coleslaw was just dry vegetables. Can't comment on the beans and rice because they didn't give me any.

Ordered the Family Portion fried fish. The "two large sides included" was two little 1/4 cup containers. Side veggies were very bland. Fish was tough and very salty. Do not recommend at all.

Food inspectors found mouse feces "in most areas" of a Springfield restaurant, including on surfaces that have contact with food, according to a Feb. 6 Springfield-Greene County Health Department food inspection report.In addition to the presence of mouse droppings on prep stations and tables, cold holders, the ice machine, utensils, the drying rack and slicer, Sam's Southern Eatery, 1631 S. Glenstone Ave., had violations in regards to cold holding as well as employee handwashing on Feb. 6.

Don't eat here. The owners DO NOT CARE about food safety. Just look at their health inspection history. An absolute laundry list of violations every single time they are inspected. The owners should be ashamed.
Best fish in Springfield! We've never had a bad meal here. And their sides are AMAZING!

The food would be amazing if they cleaned and switched out their out their frying oil and not fry the pies in the same oil they cook the fish and chicken in. People can taste that. It’s not a pleasant taste at all. I had to throw the fried pecan pie away because it tasted like it was fried in the fish grease, let alone. The grease was old and dirty.

Husband and I were only customers in the joint, should've been our first clue! Every single table was dirty. No ice in ice machine. Took 20 minutes to microwave 2 sandwiches because he was on the phone the whole time. By the time he saw us watching and waiting we were served cold food fairly quickly. My honest opinion do NOT order BBQ beef sandwich or mac-n-cheese....at LEAST 3-4 days old! Dry and Disgusting! No, I did not eat it. A little pricey for what you get.Will NOT return, even if free and I was starving!
Fish was actually cooked crispy and was seasoned. Sides are very small portions. Prices have increased even though serving sizes have decreased.
