I got the sesame chicken. It was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The chicken tasted bad which I believe they tried to cover up with way too much sauce. I also asked for it to be spicy but they must have forgotten that part. The egg roll had little to no cabbage inside and in not sure what the meat was. It appeared to be some cheap filler that also tasted terrible. The fried rice had no egg in it... just a low- cost attempt at something they could call fried rice. This is the absolute worst restaurant I've ever been to in my entire life. I would recommend that you do not go there.

The best Chinese food in springfield, mo. My wife and I have been coming here since 1990 and after 31 years we still have to have some good Chinese food. ??
A lot of these reviews say something along the lines of "this food was amazing," but that truly doesn't cover how truly perfect this food was. My girlfriend and I got $70 worth and well be eating on this for two days. I've been through all 50 states as a trucker and tried as many Chinese food places I could and THIS PLACE is by far the best Chinese I've ever eaten. Case closed. They're nice and deserve all the business possible.
Small hole in the wall resturant but food is always good and made fresh! The cashew sauce is rich and darker in color, not light like some. I like the hot and spicy chicken and ask them to add extra spice to it or it's not very spicy at all.

I got an order of sweet & sour chicken. It was a child size portion that came with fried rice, exactly what I wanted. The chicken was slightly overcooked and tough, but it still had the flavor that I was wanting. I did have to ask for the child size serving, which I didn't see on the menu.

My Family and I have bee. Going to Shanghai Inn since the mid or early 1980's They have amazing food and I really like Flossy she has been a familar face to me and has been there all this time. The only complaint i have is they raise their prices all the time and they are pretty pricey anymore. I still go there ocasionally because I love their food.

I have used the driv-thru & have ate inside here and have never found another place that even comes close to the food they make. This is the only place that I'd ever give a 5star rating..Kid-friendliness: Very friendly to everyone..Parking: Plenty of parking if you are eating inside and it's not hard to get out of the lot.
We chose to eat here when my boyfriend and I stayed in Springfield, since we were traveling through the states and this place was not good. I’m from Wisconsin so I trusted google reviews and was super excited only to be disappointed. We got shrimp lo mein, orange chicken with veggies and it came with rice, egg roll and crab rangoon on the side. I liked the lo mein noodles but the shrimp tasted old and gross. It didn’t look right either. The egg roll did not taste fresh at all either. It felt like they left it sitting out and served it just like that. The only good part was the orange chicken w/ veggies and the staff was friendly. I love Chinese food and I really wanted to give this place a chance, but the quality was not giving. Save your money if you’re coming from another town or state!

Great food, excellent customer service!I would love to see more traditional Chinese food on the menu, but I know other people aren't as open to trying it. Everything we had was fantastic though!Sesame chicken had the best fried chicken I've had with Chinese food. Crab Rangoon was amazing, but I wish there was crab in it! Had it the next day though and the wonton was still crispy and delicious. Chicken & Shrimp combo fried rice was one of the best fried rice dishes I've ever had! And the Beef and Broccoli was phenomenal.I can't wait to try it again.Parking: Drive-thru available

Favorite Dishes: Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour ChickenGetting away from the Cashew Chicken, this was my personal favorite Chinese food place in town and I remember how I felt when I discovered it. It's a small place, I didn't have high expectations, and there was a deal on the Orange Chicken at the time, so I ordered it. My mind was blown. I have never since had orange chicken like theirs, and it is something I often crave. They have other great dishes here, too, but try the orange chicken and you will fall in love. It is not a glaze, but a dark and rich spiced citrus sauce, featuring chilis and aromatics. It was so good. There were times I'd feel like I was in the mood for Cashew Chicken, but felt somewhat undecided, and then I'd remember the Orange Chicken and have to go here instead. I've walked here, back when I lived on the North side, and driven across town to eat here when I didn't. It's such a hidden treasure, and never as busy as it should be.
