I asked for a good recommendation for a decent Mexican restaurant. I was not disappointed! The service was great, the food was delicious, and I was able to practice my limited Spanish! If you are in the Springfield area, this is a good choice for Mexican food!!!

I can't believe I've never posted a review of this fabulous Mexican restaurant. We've gone here for a few years now almost every time we are in Springfield. I we don't eat in, I order to take home. I think it's very authentic, with the owner's family recipes. There are some things there I don't like (i.e. picadillo), but the things I do love, that's what I order over and over again. Take for example, their gorditas. Not only delicious but the biggest ones I've had anywhere. Their shredded beef is so incredibly flavored. I often order 2 lbs to bring home, which comes with chopped onions, lime quarters, and cilantro. I use the shredded beef to make a soft taco or tostada with the 3 dozen homemade corn tortillas I also get from Tortilleria Perches. And their red salsa is good, their green salsa the best anywhere. My favorite item on the menu is Guisado de Barbacoa. Paul likes the carnitas, or is it the chile verde? The one negative is the it's pretty cramped inside, but hey, I gladly put up with that minor issue to get great food.

This was not a good experience I didn't get what I ordered when I said something they said I can't do anything I can get a manager never saw one payed for food can't even eat .this change my mind on goin back there. Not happening

This place has specials every night and that is what draws a crowd, but the quality of the Taco Tuesday Tacos is not great. Let’s just say Taco Bell is better. The taco meat was sparse and the taste was bland. Once I had rice with peppers, onions, chicken, and cheese, and it was actually quite greasy. However, I did like the enchiladas and they have the BEST salsa I have ever eaten. Overall the food is a 2.

From the moment we walked in I knew we were in for a good time. The atmosphere was perfect and the owner Jose greeted us with a big welcoming.We started off with the house brewed beer - it was delicious and the size of a swimming pool! Starting with the chips and salsa yum… everything we ordered was delicious and plentiful. The tortillas are home made ( of course) overseen by the owners mom - she is a sweetheart.Did I mention I am Mexican and from Los Angeles and work in Beverly Hills? I only wish we had this place at home- Mexican food is not very good there -This is a must go too place on you list if you want a delicious meal-

Tortilleria Perches is the best Mexican food in town to this exTexan. Everything is always incredibly delicious, the staff is lovely. You won't find a better, or better priced margarita in town. If you have a choice of meat on the dish you order I highly recommend the carnitas. Best salsa in town by a wide wide margin too. Don't forget to get a treat on the way out the door too.
