Rootbound has such a good vibe! The atmosphere is warm, friendly and tranquil. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for vegan or vegetarian food options. My favorite is the black bean burger and chocolate shake. Good and healthy food with great customer service.

Man I used to love this place when the owner ran it day to day in Clayton. Stopped in this past Friday (March 2024) at 10:21am & the door was locked. Had to knock on the door several times to get the attention of the woman working. Had the music blaring & two small children running around when she finally opened the door. The little girl climbed up on the counter & mixed my $11 room temperature smoothie drink. Dirty shoe soles on the actual countertop & then kicked over the cup I was supposed to have used had I not asked for a clean one. Armpit hair showing two inches long in a sleeveless shirt serving in the food industry is absolutely disgusting... come on. NEVER again.

As a plant based eater, I've tried to make myself love this place on more than one occasion. I've been disappointed almost every single time. While the wait times aren't ideal, I would be able to tolerate that for high quality food. Unfortunately, Rootbound does not meet that criteria. Three times I've ordered a waffle and every single time the waffles were both burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside with next to no flavor. I've had to go back to ask for a full serving of their overpriced kombucha when the pour was embarrassingly low. Their juices are fine. If you're going there for a juice, okay.. In addition to the waffles, their other main dishes left a lot to be desired. I think this place is more of an "idea" that was poorly executed than an environment worth visiting. High costs, bad food, long wait times.
