Being an African-American from Chicago, I feel that Cracker Barrel is hit or miss when it comes to their service. Mostly in the South, I have figured out that the service is based on the region. I recently dined in Spanish Fort, Alabama. When our server arrived, I felt as if I was back in the early 60s when she greeted our table. She was rude for no reason. Short with her conversation and very snappy with her responses. My wife and I ordered our entrees. When our food finally arrived, it was room temperature, and it appeared old, not fresh. I asked our waitress for the side cornbread that came with our meals. She rolled her eyes and stormed back into the kitchen. I could overhear her arguing with the cooks. She came back and placed some mangled muffins in front of us. (See photos) Both my wife and I decided that we weren't going to tolerate this level of service. We got up and paid for our meals that we did not finish eating and left. We both felt that the waitress was either having a very bad day or she simply did not appreciate or wanted to wait on a person of color. I say the latter of the two. I know that people of color love to dine out and patronize establishments. However, please always write reviews to let owners know about this type of behavior. I do not want to accuse Cracker Barrel of being a racist or prejudiced establishment, but sometimes, their staff's treatment and behavior when it comes to serving people of color can be a little confusing.

We arrived at 6:00pm on a Tuesday night to a nearly empty restaurant which should have been our first clue. Seated us immediately then waited 15 mins for anyone to take our drink orders when finally the hostess who seated us noticed and took our drink orders. A waitress finally took our food order. There was clearly a lot of confusion over who’s tables were who’s. My husband ordered soup and salad was told they don’t have soup anymore. I ordered Chicken fried steak which tasted like old fry oil. The waitress never came back to check on us. I had to hunt her down to get the check. As I stated they were not busy at all. Cracker Barrel is usually our go to when traveling. We will definitely not return to this location. Extremely disappointed.

This Cracker Barrel is by far the worst restaurant I've ever been too! We where seated and no one I mean no one said anything to us. We sat there as we watched other customers be served, all around us! You would of thought we had some contagious disease or something, just a horrible experience I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to go there. Matter of fact I would lol

I love me some Cracker Barrel!! So this review is not a reflection of the chain as a whole but rather this specific location. Customer service was just bad I'm sad to say. I hate to give bad reviews but how is a location going to improve unless we're honest? After being seated it took about 15 minutes for the server to bring us menus and take our drink order. After he brought us coffee there was no silverware to mix the cream and sugar so we had to wait for that while the coffee was getting cold. He took our order and my over-hard eggs came out over-easy but I had no time to wait for them to redo them. Then it look forever to get napkins brought to us after asking three times. There were only around 15 tables seated in the restaurant at this time so it wasn't a matter of being slammed or I would not even write this review. Just hoping you do better. I'll be back to Cracker Barrel but not this location.

The food was decent, but the place was clearly understaffed. They made a few mistakes on our receipt and had to straighten out things out before I left. Until they are better staffed I wouldn't recommend this location.

It took 20 minutes to get drinks, 45 minutes to get biscuits and silverware, and when our food finally came out after an hour most things were wrong. Our waitress seemed confused about what food was what and eventually handed us off to a completely different waitress, who actually got the food out correctly. We had a large party of 12 people which I can understand being a bit stressful, but our orders were pretty simple with no substitutions. There were multiple tables that got seated, ate, and paid before we even got any food, and the restaurant was not even that busy. I will say they at least gave half off the bill, but the wait for everything was absolutely atrocious.

No wonder Ferguson gets such a bad name. After two minutes to get us seated with a few open tables, we waited 15 minutes and we're not acknowledged at all. Waitresses went to the tables all around us and ignored us totally. There may have been other reasons for us being ignored but I don't want to start stereotyping. Won't ever go back there again. Decided to go to a local place to where we live and guess what? Order taken within 60 seconds. Now that's service. The owner of that Cracker Barrel should be ashamed of himself for helping to give Ferguson a bad name. Shame. Shame. Shame.

If I could give negative stars I would. The servers are trash, they yell at customers for not tipping them enough when they bring wrong orders, Celsius water, and uncooked food. I really want the whole night shift fired but yea don't even stop here

When I walked in it was a slight wait for a greeter, but not too long. She came and sat the person down in front of me. The manager came over and he welcomed us to the restaurant and thanked us for coming. He also took his time to tell us about the advertised specials. He mentioned the Kick'n Ranch chicken which I told him looks delicious. He highly recommended it so of course we had to try it. The dish did not disappoint! The chicken was extra crispy and seasoned very well. The spicy ranch sauce gives it extra flavor with a kick of spice. For the sides I had the fried okra and macaroni and cheese which was both good. The Server Danette was very nice and attentive while we were there. I normally come to Cracker Barrel for breakfast but will definitely be back for dinner!

Terrible service. There was no host at the stand for at least 10 min. We finally asked a manager if we could be seated. We sat down and waited 20 min for coffee and water. We had to track down the manager again just to ask for drinks. Finally, a waitress delivered drinks and then came back several minutes later to take our order. When an hour had passed (from the time we were seated) our food still hadn't arrived. We left without eating. Another family at a nearby table got their food and something was wrong. They didn't eat their food and got up and left. They had received their food before us and were behind us when we were waiting to be seated.

Server was great. Espresso machine broken so no speciality drinks. Food portions hearty. Peach Mimosas were great.

Is there anything lower than 1. Ok allow me to relive my horrible experience. I will preface this story with my wife and I just relocated to St.Louis from Minnesota three weeks ago. We have been to Cracker Barrel restaurants all over the U.S. we have never had one single bad experience. ....... Welcome to St.Louis! We were at our table for twenty minutes without a drink order or a hello from our server. She had six tables and brought the wrong food out twice. You could see the other customers were in the precarious position of getting up and leave or stay for more ineptness from the staff. I asked the server how long it was going to be before we could order? She said it's going to be awhile because I am working this entire section by myself (six tables) The manager walked by and I asked him to take our drink orders. He did and brought me coffee. I told my wife if the server walked by again we were going to leave. Sure enough fifteen minutes later she asked everyone at her remaining four tables if they needed anything else and walked right by us without looking our way. I said excuse me honey are we going to get service. She yelled at the top of her lungs " I am working by myself all day long." I asked who are you yelling at? She said you. I had my wife help me stand up and grab my cane so that we could leave. She continued her tirade into the kitchen pointing at my wife and I using profanity. The manager was on the floor and basically asked us to go outside. He lost two customers and really couldn't care. He did nothing that said sir we appreciate you and allow me to make this right. I should've know this was going to happen because two nights ago my mother in law and I ordered a delivery from this store and half of the order was missing. I have the call attempts saved it to forty five minutes and six call backs to speak to someone else that did nothing.
