We ordered big boxes for the holidays in AZ. I found Dads through friends who sent a box to our hotel. Fabulous cookies and hard to not eat five at one time!

They can make 50,000 cookies in a day. Now that makes us happy!Wanna go back to 1938? Head over to Dad's Cookies in Dutchtown. Dad's Original Scotch Oatmeal Cookies, originating from Scotland in 1900, came to California. Dad's Cookie Company soon embraced franchising, becoming a pioneer in the industry by 1927. During a visit to St. Louis in the same year, a salesman introduced Carpenter's Ice Cream in St. Louis to the flavor of the Scotch Oatmeal Cookie, leading to Mr. Carpenter obtaining the St. Louis franchise. In 1938, St. Louis baker Henry Renz Sr. acquired Dad's Cookie Company from Carpenter's Ice Cream. The Renz bakery on Louisiana Avenue and Keokuk Street became the new home of Dad's Cookie Company. Henry "Hank" Renz Jr. took the reins in 1949.In 1988, the Hastey brothers, another generation of the Renz family, inherited Dad's Cookie Company. Even now, the company offers fantastic cookies in their nostalgic 1930s spot. It's where all the magic happens. The coconut cookie was my favorite!

If you like a crunchy oatmeal cookie, this is the place. You will go through them fast! Employees are really nice and helpful. They give you samples to make sure you like what you are getting. The oatmeal and the coconut are my favorite. My wife likes the chocolate chip. Glad to know they ship!

The cookies are terrific. Fun local family owned business. We got a tour of the place and heard the story of the founders, the building the new owners. The team did a wonderful job treating us to a fun outing!

I just wanted to post this to show you the joy you bring to those that get to try your cookies. My dad talked about sneaking down to your store as a child. He will be 80 this year. He's also dying from issues with his lungs. I don't live in St. Louis anymore but I try to visit often. I thought I would give him a pick me up and stopped by your store. Had a very nice conversation with a beautiful lady at the counter and bought two bags of your Scottish Oatmeal. His favorite (he jams a scoop of ice cream in between to cookies). One for my dad and one for his brother, who too, isn't at his best health these days. Dropped the first bag off to my uncles and chatted. He smiled the whole time. I asked him not to tell my dad I was on the way. Sadly, I couldn't see my dad like I wanted to because he and his wife were being quarantined due to Covid. So, I stood outside the door and dropped the cookies between the doors and waited. When he saw the cookies, he lit up like a child at the best birthday party ever! We exchanged laughs and I left to pack up and go back home. 5 minutes later after his wife text, joking about him being selfish and only giving her one out of the 25 and how the marriage vows where being broken, he told me for the first time as an adult, "I Love You" as he was feeling really really down and that made his day! Simple Things... Thank you Dads for making that moment happen for "my" dad!!!

We ordered chocolate arch candy for our daughter’s wedding. She was doing a St. Louis theme for the wedding. They were a big hit with our guests. We also ordered cookies for our hotel guests gift bags. Also a big hit. The staff was great to work with. Highly recommend Dad’s cookies!

My visit to order Christmas cookies for out-of-town family is a treat because I also buy a bag of broken oatmeal cookies for me! Ordering was easy and the family looks forward to this taste of St Louis.
