Absolute St. Louis Treasure!! Went looking for ooey gooey butter cake after visiting Grant's Farm and I found this gem not too far down the road. When we initially passed the bakery on the drive to the farm my brother said, "a place with a sign like that has to be good." Upon leaving Grant's, I Googled ooey gooey butter cake and Federhofer's popped up. When we walked in we were blown away with the case displays and vast array of treats in those cases. The first thing, I asked the friendly associate was for ooey gooey butter cake, then I asked for some Easter Bunny cookies (the presentation of the items, was just eye-catching) and finally I spotted these little butter cookies my Dad used to buy us as kids, but can no longer locate where I live. Needless to say, I walked out with a wonderful memory and some sweet treats. I will definitely return and spread the word on this St. Louis diamond.

This has been my favorite bakery since before I can even remember! From weekend visits to weekly shopping at Johnny's Market (where they used to deliver), the tastes, smells, and sights are the same. I love the nostalgia and the memories throughout the years.
We've been getting our son's birthday cakes here for nearly a decade and have never been disappointed. Even when there's a line, it moves pretty quickly. Staff are helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Cakes are top notch - we're very much looking forward to picking up this year's 13th birthday cake.
Federhoffers made our sheet cakes and other desserts for our wedding. Our guests loved our cake and gooey butter cake options. We did not have much leftover which is a testament to how good Federhoffers Bakery is. They also made cookies for my bridal shower and people are still raving about them. I would recommend Federhoffers to anyone needing a dessert for an event. They have a wide variety and they are very easy to communicate with and very affordable.

The one thing I will say is get the chocolate cupcakes with the chocolate pudding!!!The cheese Danish is very sweet, but delicious... but... those chocolate cupcakes are OUT OF THIS WORLD.

2/28/2024- I bought 3 poppyseed rolls (stollens), 3 ground nut rolls and 1 almond crumb stollen. I gave these to 3 family’s. I kept some. Everyone said the same thing. Very dry. I ordered 2 days ahead. Very disappointing. I won’t buy again. A few years ago when I was there for these, they didn’t have any out in the case, But they were able to get me some out of the freezer. I don’t know if this is the case why they were so dry. They were heavy like bread not soft opposed to a nice flaky fresh dough. Sorry to say :(

OMG Best bakery in STL. live in western St Charles county and make this trip 2-3 time's a year. Well worth the 45 minute drive.
