Old fashion deli on “The Hill” in St. Louis. Famous hot salmi.

I don’t like salami normally but I figured I needed to try the Italian trio. Amazing!!! The meatball sub with mozzarella was also great. Even the kids turkey sandwich was good.

So here is the lowdown on Gioias. This is NOT authentic Italian. They got bought out.The salami is good if you like that sort of thing but what you need to eat is a roast beef sandwich there.Anyway....there is nothing Italian about it.Its all acting. It also isn't a place that harbors diversity and the owners are neo con cop type folks and yeah...they are really really mean. The girls who work there are CRAZY...lots of gossip stealing cheese snorting lines in the cooler etc and they got VERY smear the queer with me and threw a fit so I let that be my last day.Yep...I used to work there. That being said I enjoyed every moment of working there until that day but yeah. Its not a place that welcomes everyone. Not at all.Where did all the black people go?hmmmmmm. The food is good but it isn't Italian, it isn't run by some mob family like people say or else I couldn't post this. Its just a deli...with a lot of sausage.Tons.EAT THE ROAST BEEF AND TELL THE MEAN LADY SHE IS A BIRCH.BECAUSE SHE IS.VERY MEAN.AWFUL.LOL

I'm new to STL, but probably the best sandwich I've ever had. Service was also 10/10. Very organized and awesome customer service. Check out the roast beef ? ?

The BEST Italian sandwich in America. Order the Spicy Daggett. You won't regret it! SO worth the 5+ hour drive. Not much for ambiance, but the neighborhood is safe, easy parking.

I’d give them 5 stars if they had a bathroom.Nice lady who took my order was patient with 1st-time guests and explained menu items well.Sandwiches were delicious.Outside seating was great on a warm, sunny day.Kid-friendliness: Delicious custom sandwiches

Great food, but expensive. Weekends have long lines and wait time. Three sandwiches, three sodas and one small bag of chips to share was $55. Not really worth the price and time waiting.Parking: On weekends plan on walking several blocks to get there.

They have the most delicious satisfying salami sandwiches. They have a few small tables inside and outside, but mostly take out.Parking: Parking is available on a first come first serve basis. But there is usually some Parking available across the street on Macklind, if no where else.
