We ordered off the menu and were pleasantly surprised at the amount of food we got with our meals and everything tasted great! We got the crab Rangoon and pot stickers as appetizers, we shared an order of Miso soup, lastly for entrees I had the garlic chicken w fried rice and my hubby had the shrimp/beef fried rice.I do wish they had a liquor license to have some wine, that would have been the icing on the cake!Service was on point and the environment was nice and quiet for a Friday!

The food was good but the ceiling tiles over the food need to be replaced. They look terrible. The ceiling fans were very dirty.Parking: Parking was fine.

I have been a customer for 36 years and I have seen the gradual decline of quality in not only the food, but in the atmosphere. It's dirty, especially around the buffet line (look at the ceiling tiles over the buffet--disgusting). Sorry Lee, the original owner.

Went for lunch, a lot of the food was dried out, cold, or just nasty. Restaurant itself doesn't seem that clean and could use a major remodel, there is stuff hanging on the wall touting what a good place it was 30 or more years ago. Bathroom is not handicapped accessible, its super small and super cold in there, apparently not heated. Staff was nice, and service was good. Overall, though its below average even for a Chinese buffet; unfortunately not many good ones left; the pandemic did most of them in, and the few that managed to hold on for the most part just are not very good at all.

Happy China has had its ups and downs over a long time in business. On my recent visit, the buffet was quite good. And the price is right!

This has been my go to Chinese buffet but I dined in yesterday and had the buffet and unfortunately a roach came crawling across my table. I was horrified. I know that if roaches are in the seating area then they are definitely in the kitchen. I probably won’t return. I even felt nauseous once I got home. This is unfortunate because there aren’t many good Chinese buffets left in St. Louis. ? And the restrooms are beyond disgusting ?. I didn’t make the staff aware of the roach, we killed it and left it on the table for them. Now that I think about it, I not only should have made them aware, I should have gotten my money back.

The food was awful. And cold. I tried several things on the Buffett and took just one bite before finally giving up on finding anything eatable. It used to be really good but new owner and it's absolutely awful. I won't be going back.

Turned out Happy China became Sad China for me and my cousins. This buffet is the worst buffet that ever existed, do not go there and waste your hard earned money. Food was so cold, tastes so nasty, not much variety. I took 3 of my lil cousins and I spent $78 for some trash we couldn’t even eat. We had to leave because we couldn’t eat nothing except coconut shrimps and ice creams. DO NOT GO THERE AND WASTE YOUR MONEY.

This is not a bad review. Just honest. The food was so so. I have had better. It was just ok. Other people may find it to be perfect. Although I will say that some dishes were very good. The shrimp could have been bigger in some dishes, in my opinion. The service was very nice. Our waitress was attentive, sweet, and accommodating. The seating area was nice. The food side was a bit hot. It's a restaurant that has been there for a lot of years, and it feels like it.Overall, I think they could step certain dishes up just a little. But it was a decent experience. I'd go back if I was in this area and wanted a nice eating selection where I could get a decent variety of foods for a good price.

It definitely is not the place it used to be. The building and interior can definitely use some updating. I'm sure they are still suffering from the changes caused by the pandemic era. However, the food is still pretty good and the crab rangoon's are still the best around.

The food was cold, hard, or chewy. Not to mention how overpriced it was. My 4 year old ate grapes for $8. Not a lot of options.
