Perhaps it's partially the nature of cafeteria food, but there are plenty of comments about food not being hot. When I experienced room temp gravy on top of the turkey and dressing they were happy to heat up my entree but I did not witness any action being taken to solve the root of the problem. I think the health dept needs to pay an inspection visit and remind them of the importance of maintaining proper food temperatures.

This is a basic, clean cafeteria offering a variety of entrees, sides and desserts. The simple food attracts a lot of senior citizens. The daily specials priced at about $10.00 are a good value for entree and a couple of sides; beverage and dessert is additional. Ala carte can get a bit pricey for someone on a fixed income; plan on spending $15.00 for entree and 2 sides, and more if you add beverage and dessert. This business is cash only! I had the beef noodle casserole which was quite bland, coleslaw was very good. My friend really liked the fried cod with a small salad and green beans. I sampled the cod and will order that next time. We both thoroughly enjoyed pie for dessert. Flaky crust...baked custard and mile high lemon meringue. There was plenty of seating and we were able to linger quite awhile to visit with each other.

Combo Review after two visits. One on a Sunday. One a week later on a Monday. This review I will end it with 4 pro and 4 cons. But first a little need to know information about the place:The receipt is one person on my first visit.I gave service zero stars because I didn't see any and they create atmosphere to tip twice. Tip at Cash register and tip at the table although nobody serves you. This was my first time here.1)Cash only absolutely no credit card. Many many signs to warn you, so no excuses that you didn't know.2)You are charged ala carte. Everything is charged individually. Even a butter packet is 0.12cents a butter packet. A pickle spear is 0.20cents.3)No Senior discount.4)Everyone there is a senior. Seriously!!So the cons first. They may sound weak, but in my eyes important.Cons....Con #1) can't find extra napkins. You get one napkin with your knife, fork, spoon.Con#2) You can refill your coffee. it's out in the dining area, but you will never find a waitress to refill soda or tea.Con#3) missing waitress. Actually, I saw the two boy waiters and one lady waitress on Sunday, but they were hands full cleaning tables. Monday was one waitress and she was cleaning tables. No time for service to you, the customer. I suppose to some people this is a big no, but it is a cafeteria. Once you sit down, you really don't need anything.#4) yea this a big one. Tipping. They have a tip jar at the register. So we put tip in there. Then we realized that they clean the tables, so I guess you got to the tip the table buss people. So you tip again. I guess I would not mind but, you go through a cafeteria line and select. Then you have no waitress but you tip a table cleaners.Pro.........Pro#1)food is good quality, and you get a nice serving for cost paid.Pro#2)plenty entree to pick from. Plenty sides to pick from. Plenty desert to pick from.Pro#3)salad was quality, both visits. Side salad, beet salad, slaw salad, etc. Many salad to pick from. I made salads a separate Pro because quality places have quality salads. So the salad quality and selection alone sold me on this place.#4)I got to add a fourth. Coffee is really good and it is out on the floor so you can get up and serve yourself. Since I want more than one cup and want it when I want it, to serve myself is very very important to me. But if you a soda or ice tea drinker like my wife, you get one glass, so pace yourself.*I absolutely would return.* My wife said she would return.

My Salisbury steak was raw and they wouldn’t exchange it. I wonder if the oven was working. I’m worried about food poisoning and I hope none of the older people get sick. The manager just said it cooked long enough but the meat shows otherwise.

THE absolute BEST food, not a greasy spoon. All entress cooked with optimum quality, starting at 5:30 am every morning. If that's not total dedication to a very fine quality product then nothing is.....Dr

First time I've been here in many years. I used to bring my Dad here all the time. It's pretty much the exact same as I remember. Good food and service.
