I can only speak on my takeout experiences, but each time we order to-go everything is fresh, the rolls and fish are separated well, and it's all tasty. We try to order fish that isn't fried but the lobster roll is one we get every dang time... worth it!

Best place I've found in StL area for sushi. Lobster roll is incredible! Everything here is good! Get the Wasabi Shrimp. They are the absolute best mf shrimp you will ever eat!

We had such high hopes for this restaurant for takeout. We spent nearly $50 and got next to nothing. Small quantities for mediocre taste.

I am a huge sushi fan. I found out about this place and simply love it. They have the best sushi in St. Louis. It's nice and fresh and they have a large variety of sushi to choose from. It is conveniently located close to 270. They have great service as well. I love their lobster rolls. I think they are my favorite. They also have good potstickers. Go check them out!

Oishi Sushi was overall a great experience! The service was fast and very attentive. The sushi was excellent and the restaurant is clean! I came for dinner on a weekday and was seated immediately with efficient service the whole time!My only qualm is with the pricing as I find that their quality is not any different than cheaper sushi options I frequent.

Food has always been consistently delicious and never has a bad meal or bad service! This is one of my favorite go to's in St Louis! The chefs take great pride on the quality & the beautiful presentation of the food! I'm here at least once a week for a meal! For years I've been coming here and they have been 100% consistent! One of my favorite places of all time! Thank you for caring about your craft!

We had the worst hibachi experience we've ever had as pretty frequent hibachi goers. We had another party paired at our table that was pseudo vegan. They didn't want eggs in their fried rice but was ok with the egg in the noodles and butter being cooked in everything (as well as their food being used with the utensils meat was used with and food cooked right on top of where the meat was prepared). There was a massive communication error with the waitress/chef/kitchen and they were supposed to be brought eggless rice from the back. Instead, the chef gave them the yummy rice cooked in front of us which made my 3 kids receive the kitchen cooked fried rice which wasn't nearly as good. I'm not sure if this night was understaffed but it was almost impossible getting service at our table. My 4 year old dropped her fork. After 10 minutes of not seeing any wait staff, I finally had to get up to walk around and find someone so my kiddo could get a fork and eat her food. To top it off, it was my birthday and we told the staff. The table beside us had a birthday as well and they brought out a cupcake and all sang a song to them. I got none of that which was disappointing. Can't imagine of a child was there to celebrate and got skipped over like that would feel. The whole meal felt messy and quite frankly a hot mess. Don't think we will be back.

FINALLY!!!!! I was able to find a Japanese chef from Japan in STL! Yes, I know about Nobu, and plan to visit that spot really soon but sometimes you don't want to have to make reservations and spend over a hundred dollars on a three course sushi meal. Sometimes, you just want to walk into a place, sit at the sushi bar, speak Japanese, drink sake, watch an NFL game, and order "real sushi" that's off menu! And you know what?! This is the place where you can do all of that, because I did! It was so nice to be able to speak to Chef Yoshi in Japanese and order a few traditional Japanese dishes off menu! I order negitoro every time, it's my favorite, and off menu! I've tried to order negitoro in STL so many times at so many sushi places, but they can never accommodate because they don't know what it is. By the way, in addition to his sushi, the way Chef Yoshi personally grills fish is perfection! It tasted like home! I was extremely happy! The only reason why I'm not rating this place a five star in STL is because not all of the Japanese dishes have that authentic "washoku" taste. But the sushi is definitely a home run!

Atmosphere very good. Small but cozy. Very clean. Service was excellent. I am from Japan and the food was great. The Nori around my roll was fresh and rice used in my roll was good. Miso soup very good as well. The Tempura was cooked perfect. Highly recommend.

Really overated. Great staff, great ambience. That's it.The for price however, I would have expected twice the food. It didn't even taste great. You're paying premium for ingredients that aren't. I have no idea what my friends see in this place but save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere.
