Russell’s on Macklin is such a staple. It has a cozy and relaxed ambiance with a fireplace offering locally sourced American cuisine.Located in the Southampton neighborhood of St. Louis, it’s a family-run restaurant that prides itself on warm hospitality and mouthwatering dishes reminiscent of home-cooked meals. From their homestyle cooking to freshly baked goods, Russell’s on Macklin caters to both the brunch & dinner crowds. The menu features elevated versions of classic American favorites, highlighting the best seasonal ingredients available.I had the broccolini salad and lump crab cake. Both were delicious. I also shared in the cheeseboard.Don't forget to indulge in their tempting gooey butter cake.

The scrambled egg sandwich is one of, if not the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Was surprised to be able to sit right away during a busy Saturday brunch. Definitely recommend!!

I have yet to eat at the restaurant, but what I can say are the cakes are delicious! My favorite so far is their chocolate port wine cake, but their signature chocolate and strawberry cakes are also very good. I highly recommend going for the baked goods, and I plan to visit their restaurant soon.

This is absolutely our favorite place for breakfast. The fresh bags are incredible and the gooey butter is out of this world. On a nice day we love sitting in their outside area. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for an authentic St Louis dining experience.

Took 40 minutes from time of order to receive a couple of breakfast sandwiches. It was fairly busy, so about 20 minutes would have been acceptable, and I probably wouldn't be complaining if it was 30 minutes since we ordered a cinnamon roll which was brought out right away. We noticed that some patrons near us who ordered shortly after us received their food long before us, and some other patrons who ordered 10+ minutes after us but got their food at the same time as us.The host and server were polite, but during the long wait for our sandwiches, we got no updates from our server during the wait, and no apologies for the delay. There was a moldy blueberry at the top of a fruit cup which we alerted the server of when she next stopped by. She only offered to get a new fruit cup. At that point we just wanted to leave so we declined and asked for the check. The server did not offer to give us an alternate side or take a couple dollars off or anything.Last, one of the sandwiches basically came half assembled and our server had to go get us a sharper knife so we could cut it in half. Not a big deal, but slightly strange to me.The cinamon roll and sandwiches were pretty good. If the wait for the food and the service were better, I would be leaving a 4 or 5 star review instead.

Ordered brunch take out. One of best breakfast burritos I’ve had. Others loved Lola Jean Breakfast sandwich. Ask for hot sauce too. Only took 20 minutes on busy Saturday. What a gem of a neighborhood restaurant. Hope to be back and dine in next time.

If you are looking for a place to have a nice conversation and relax, this is not it. Very busy and loud over brunch. It's cute and cozy but we were seated literally near the front door, behind the host. Constant commotion by our table and people passing by. Totally distracting and annoying. Service was lovely and food very good.

What a great place for brunch! The service was great! The food was amazing and the drinks were good as well. I had the grilled cheese breakfast sandwich and my husband had the Lola Jean sandwich. You can get a 1/2 order of the French toast and I highly recommend it! Everyone that worked there was really nice. Our waitress recommended that we come back for dinner. We will be back! 5 stars for sure!

Came here for breakfast. And it was absolutely delicious! Our waitress Maggie did a phenomenal job and made it so pleasant for us celebrating my daughter‘s 30th birthday. Had several cake slices and they were delicious and each of our dishes were so flavorful and good. Can’t wait to come back to St. Louis and eat there again.

I’ve had Russell’s desserts and they are amazing. I’ve been wanting to try their brunch. I ordered “to go,” as I was alone and the restaurant has very limited seating. I ordered the quiche, which was supposed to be bacon & spinach. It was actually predominantly potatoes, with a small amount of broccoli and other veggies. The portion was large, the crust was good, but there were just way too many potatoes, which swallowed up what there was of the creamy custard. The side salad of mixed greens, chopped tomatoes and onion was tasteless. Meh. There may have been a bit of oil (definitely not olive) and not a hint of lemon or vinegar. I wish I could teach them how to make a simple, healthful and delicious dressing! The cherry turnover was scrumptious. I’ll stick with the desserts and perhaps try their dinner some time.

One of my favorites! Swing by for a delicious sweet treat from their bakery, or make reservations for dinner. Either way you won’t regret it.

I love the simplicity of the menu. Reservations are a MUST. Between the 3 of us ladies we had Lobster Pot Pie, Bacon-wrapped meatloaf and the Roasted Chicken with Bread Pudding. All of it was served beautifully prepared and hot. We were very pleased with service and quality of food for the price and still had leftovers. We then treated ourselves to something from the bakery which you cannot go wrong with anything from that case. Parking is always a little tough because this is in the midst of residential homes and a few other businesses. It's only street parking (no meters) but you may walk a block or two.
