Edit..we have been back since my review. The rude guy at the door is gone. Everyone is friendly and the food is beyond amazing!!Make sure if you want to try this place out, you make reservations. My friend and I decided last minute to try the restaurant out because I had read about it on line. When we arrived, we were informed that there would be a wait. I asked about seating at the bar because most places it is open seating. Let me tell you the host was so condescending that it was uncomfortable. There is no waiting area and he acted alarmed that I was going to approach the bar to get a glass of wine. He then informed us it was a 2 hour wait. After driving around forever trying to find a place to park and having much anticipation of trying Sado we just left. I rarely leave a bad review anywhere but I realize this place is new and hope they work on their customer service. I am sure the food will be amazing

Great atmosphere and wonderful service. The sushi was fantastic with a blend of traditional and unique flavors. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and made some really awesome suggestions for us.

Did the omakase tasting, chefs choice and market pricing. Everything was explained so well, care was taken for food allergies, and the atmosphere was so nice for a date night.Social hour is a steal!

It’s a little expensive restaurant but it was awesome, i come Nippon Tei b4, that’s first their location, now they move to Sado. Their foods always fantastic, fresh n tasty, specifically sashimi n wagyu hot rock. we call b4 come there n they said just walking, but when we walking in they ask for reservations, after taking 2-3mins they let us waiting 5more mins then we can come in, so make sure next time makes reservations b4 come here, however the staffs very friendly, gentlemen, n helpful. We’re really enjoyed the dinner, we will be back for sure, n highly recommended this location

Amazing food and service. They were very careful to check about food allergies and make sure everything was wonderful. The drinks were top notch and they talked about the process of dry aging the fish. I will definitely be back next time I am in STL.

Came to Sado for birthday celebration dinner with reservation made for dining room. We were seated in the bar. While the restaurant's ambiance was inviting, the bar seating area was unfortunately quite loud, making it challenging to have a conversation without raising your voice.

I ate at Sado with my girlfriend for the first time. I'm not a big sushi person, but the food was excellent. We had Salmon Maki, brussel sprouts, and dumpings on the hot side, and some nigri and a sushi roll. We did not leave hungry, which I was worried about for a sushi place. The only downsides were that it took a little bit for us to get our drinks and that our bill was $180. (We had 2 drinks each) They do automatically add a 20% service charge to the bill. Because of the cost this will be a once in a blue moon place for us even though we enjoyed the food.Parking: Popular neighborhood and a residential neighborhood made it hard to find parking. There are a couple of public lots in the area.

Usually when I go to Sado (once or twice a year) the experience is flawless. Customer service is polite and prompt - and the food just is like flavors dancing on my tongue.Unfortunately, this is not the experience I had last week. I went in and it was just many minor mishaps that piled on- one after the other.I understand sometimes fantasy must meet reality but I feel some issues during my Sado experience could have been avoided.Everything I had tasted great but just this time some quality things were not the same… the makimono was not put together well… as you can see from the images they were falling apart… I almost considered even asking for utensils. Then there was a noticeable crack in my glass- which was quick remedied. Also in the end -after we paid and were about to leave- we were rudely asked to depart due to other reservations. It was very abrupt, I understand that you must seat other reservations but we were paying patrons and I have never had a fine dining establishment rush me out like that… it just felt like:“We have your money already - get out”It definitely put a damper on our experience and I doubt this would have even happened if I did not already pay and they did not add the automatic gratuity.Sadly, I think this may have been the last Sado dining experience I will ever have.

Staff and food couldn’t be any better! It was just a little loud to hear conversation at your table, but that won’t keep me from coming back.

Excellent dinner. Easy to make reservation. Service was excellent, friendly and prompt, great flow/ timing of presenting food. The food itself was excellent! My only wish is that hot sake was an option.Dietary restrictions: Did very well with gluten and dairy free options. Staff was knowledgeable on allergies and appropriate menu items.
