This used to be what I considered the best Chinese restaurant in STL. I am guessing ownership has changed and now I will not even eat there. I am disappointed that this restaurant has taken the quality and operations and complete went the opposite direction. I have waited many visits before writing this since I was a loyal customer for decades. To many issues to list, but my family and friends have banned Sesame due to the quality change.

Food quality was decreased substantially under the new owners. Found something hard in Eggplant Szechwan. Not going back.

I really hate to do this but this place needs to do a better job being a restaurant that serves FOOD. I had some kind of gravel in my kung pao chicken. The chicken was so stinky that I couldn’t take more than 2 bites, I threw the rest away. Now I need to detail my car or find some way to clean it.

The food sucks. We ordered 60.00 worth of food and threw it in the trash expeditiously. ? The rice had weird peas and carrots in it. The fried rice wasn't dark like fried rice. The pot stickers were gross, and the egg roll was filled with some weird textured meat. The service was very nice and friendly. I personally will never be back.

The atmosphere is lacking, but the service and food is top notch. I haven't had better sesame chicken anywhere.

The food is good. We ordered take out and everything was delicious. We had moo shu pork, crab Rangoon, mandarin bbq beef ribs, hot braised chicken. It was ready when they said it would be. We don't care for the ambiance of the renovation as they eliminated the bar and alcohol service. Well eat at home then... so we can have wine and sake and beer.

Great service, we made a lot of changes and additions. No issues! Thank you for a great dinner and for serving 9 of us.

We have never been to Sesame and in an effort to find good Chinese food we decided to try carry out today for lunch. We've tried so many restaurants in south/southwest county I can't even count. Finally a keeper. The staff was so sweet and friendly. The food was delicious! And the price was extraordinarily reasonable while maintaining high quality. We had two combo lunch specials, sweet sour pork and General Tso chicken. The pork had all the carrot, pepper, onion and pineapple that you expect but so many places leave it out. The chicken had a great sauce and a surprise of several veggies including mushrooms, carrots, water chestnuts and baby corn. This is definitely a restaurant we will keep in rotation and we look forward to trying other items in the future.

I ordered special fried rice, crab rangoons, and wonton soup. None of it was edible. Avoid this place, it is bad.. No place with food as nasty as this should be in business.

We ordered the Three Musketeers entree, (shrimp, scallop, beef) it had 2 medium shrimp, 2 medium scallops, decent amount of beef and a whole lot of water chestnuts. Quite disappointing.

The food was delicious! Both entrees had great flavors and nice portions (we took most of both entrees home). The beef on the appetizer plate was very, very tasty. We didn't eat the calamari ringa because they were rubbery. Otherwise, everything was excellent. The server was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered an appetizer and had just about finished when our entrees arrived. The place was very empty but it was Christmas Eve. The only downside was the bathrooms. Both bathrooms were unkempt and dingy looking. It's an old building, so it may just look dingy because of the age. We will definitely return to try other dishes.
