We brought our Girl Scout troop here for lunch. We had 24 total and the waitress/waiters were absolutely wonderful. The food was great. They had a ball with our girls, and went over the top serving us. Chelsea, Traci and Jamie were awesome.

The food and ice cream were both great. The communication between servers and wait staff was terrible. There were people randomly being kicked off the wait line like myself.

I ordered the two patti cheeseburger and a vanilla milkshake and we shared some French fries. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium and it came out well done. I was expecting this. The burger was average but the fries and milkshake were the stars. The fries were crinkle cut and they were hot and crispy. They were awesome! They serve the milkshake in a traditional glass cup plus they bring you the metal cup it’s prepared in which contains another 35% more milkshake. This is clever versus serving the milkshake in a larger glass cup. Our server had a lot of tables but she stayed on top of things. Clean restaurant with an 50s soda shop vibe. It also has a nice candy store.

We got here pretty close to closing time. They only offered ice cream to go. I ordered a chocolate shake and my wife ordered a root beer float. The shake was the lightest shake I've ever had. It had decent chocolate flavor, but tasted like it was full of air. My wife's root beer looked good, plenty of ice cream and root beer. Total cost including tip was just under $20. The staff was friendly and took care of us right away. Might be better for f he made it here earlier.

Came here three years ago, it sucked; food sucked, service sucked, wait time was much longer than told; all around it was a bad experience. Came back today thinking the hype is over and maybe they got it together. NOPE, they suck even harder. Best part, looking at our shakes melt sitting at the shake bar as our waitress walked past it a dozen times. Helpful tip for the wait staff, CHANGE YOUR FREAKING SHIRTS WHEN YOU SPILL FOOD ON YOURSELF. YOU LOOK LIKE NASTY SLOBS WHO DON'T HOW TO CLEAN YOURSELVES OR WHAT A WASHING MACHINE IS.

Chelsea The experience was worth the wait and the unbirthday float was beautiful and delicious!

We had higher expectations. We didn't get our drinks until after our food was delivered. We ordered soda and the food was very basic. My daughter ordered a fried chicken sandwich and I had the chicken fingers. Her sandwich was one of my chicken fingers put on a bun. Not at all what we expected. Kids ordered the freak milkshakes. They look amazing but did not taste good.

Great waitress, fast, food was good but just typical ice cream shop food. I do think it is overpriced but the station is pretty too look around

One does not expect the height of culinary cuisine at a place catering to harried parents and their over-stimulated children, yet even with these low expectations, I found myself wondering, "Which level of Dantes inferno do I find myself?" After much thought, I've narrowed it down to sloth, gluttony, or greed. Perhaps, it was simply waiting as if in purgatory surrounded by idiots and screaming children. Understaffed, overpriced, loud, and mismanaged. There were numerous empty tables, but nobody was seated in them. After an hour wait amongst the surly throngs, I'm presented with a menu that has nary a vegetable. No salad.... nothing. Onion rings tasting faintly of soap. A chicken sandwich served on a crushed bun which has been soaking up a bit of pickle juice along with a BLT piled with overcooked bacon and a single piece of lettuce and the smallest slice of tomato you can imagine. All this awaits you at Soda Fountain....if you cross the rubicon

Saturday Lunch, Spring Break We had a party of 3. Joined the waitlist at 12:49PM while exploring Union Station. Table estimated to be ready at 1:56. Checked in at 1:35. Wait time updated to 1:56 to 2:11. No big deal- we expected a wait. 2:15- we're showing as 1st on the wait list.We walk into the main hostess area from between the main doors waiting area. We get the text that our table is ready so we checked in with the hostess. Then, we wait. And wait some more. And watch numerous other tables get sat ahead of us. We checked back in with one of the hostess who basically blows us off. We wait a few more minutes then ask the status of our table and give our table. Our table is suddenly ready. Hostess takes us to our table. We got seated at 2:30. Service was acceptable. We ordered burgers and sodas. When our food arrived, we went ahead and placed our shakes and ice cream order, noting the to-go line was long. We ate our meal, table was cleared and we continued to wait for our shakes and ice cream. The waitress checked in several times, including once telling us the kitchen only had one ticket so it should be ours. Then, we waited some more. Multiple ice cream orders went out of the kitchen. Numerous new tickets went up (we could see them from where we were seated). Still no ice creams. Our waitress comes over again and tells us it should be soon. We, naively, wait a few more minutes. By this time, we've been completely done with our meal for 15 minutes or so, maybe more. Our waitress comes back over and we politely tell her to cancel the ice creams from our ticket; we're ready to pay instead. She tells us the manager had just gotten involved and was going to expedite them, but that this point, we were over waiting. Our afternoon plans were getting scrambled due to waiting so long. We confirm that we would rather just pay. Server quickly brings the check, we pay, and leave; however, the whole experience just didn't set right so I called to speak with a manager and let them know our experience. They apologize and offered free ice cream or merchandise to help resolve the issue. We advise that we just wanted them to be aware; however, we had a disappointed kiddo who really wanted ice cream so I conceded that would would take two shakes since we were still in the parking lot. Manager advised that he would bring them out and we replied that we could pull our car to the front. We pulled to the front curb, put on our hazards, and waited. And waited. And waited. Call to manager was placed at 3:14, ended at 3:17. We waited out front until 3:31 when we finally gave up and left the lot. We got a call back at 3:49 asking if we were expecting a call back-- I replied no, we expected shakes but left after another extended wait. We were told they had our cold shakes waiting for us. Too bad we were already back at our hotel. So in short, the food was fine. Couldn't tell you how the ice cream is. Hopefully, this was a one-off experience but it's enough to make it where we won't go back.

The counter was messy and dirty, the wait for one to go shake was insanely long. Would rather go to Sonic drive thru

We overheard the staff saying to stop seating people at 5PM after they took our name, which we thought was odd on a Thursday. After waiting 20 minutes to sit, the staff ignored us for another 15 minutes. At which point, this family of 5 decided to leave. Not necessarily because of how long we waited, but the because the staff would walk by and completely ignore us. Very disappointing because we visit Union Station often.Edit: because I can't respond to the response, I'm updating this to reflect that I emailed them immediately and have not heard back. I'll update when I get a response.
