We came to the smokehouse at closing time, staff was very gracious, and even the last little scraps of food were absolutely delicious. We had a server name Mara and she was absolutely amazing. The sweetest thing that ever was!!!

The ribs were absolutely divine! The pool pork was heavenly! We were here for the Nat Con, and it was a real a treat to have St. Louis smoked barbecue! You did not need any sauce at all, but I did try the white sauce for the first time and it was really good. The pool pork I can’t say enough about it! If you are a local and you haven’t been there you need to go so that you can recommend it to Outer towners such as myself. And any visitors, please make sure you stop by, this place. The staff was very friendly and it was just really good!

You want BBQ, this is the place to come!!!Posted 2 years ago: Usually take photos but totally forgot. Had the smoked turkey sandwich with fries and hush puppies. OMG, it was amazing! Definitely recommend it to everyone. The line was pretty long but totally worth the wait. BBQ sauce was great!Updated 4/17/24, I came back last year in September 2023 and had to stop again, but I didn't update my review. Still, food was amazing like always. The staff were very nice and helpful. I ended up coming back this year for work and again brought my coworkers with. They loved it! Best BBQ around. My personal opinion for this was not to impress with the sides this time, but that's ok the meats I had topped it all!!!The photo with Mac and cheese was the Sept visit, and the green bean casserole was this year's(2024)This will be my regular spot to come when I visit.

Oh my goodness!!!! It was a long line, but the wait was sooooo worth it! We had the Meat combo and tried a bit of everything, the smoked turkey was ok, the ribs were good, the pulled pork was amazing, and the brisket omg was sooooo good. Oh the sausage was ok for me. The fried green tomatoes taste like they were made in a country kitchen, thr Mac n cheese was good and the fries. Can't wait to go back and try the adult shakes mmmm. I will compare every piece of brisket from now on to this place. Woooooowww ?

Fast casual - cafeteria style ordering. Long lines but it moves quick. They have hot and cold sides. They have sides like fries, baked beans, garlic green beans and cold sides like macaroni salad, coleslaw and potato salad. I ordered a brisket sandwich and tried the fries, coleslaw and garlic green beans. I also added caramelized onions to my sandwich. The sandwich was lukewarm but still very good. Not overly fatty. Tender and good flavor. Coleslaw was bland. Fries were piping hot but seemed like they had been fried twice. Kind of like they fried then got cold and they refried. It had that dark brown slightly burnt taste. But they were decent. Garlic green beans were great! definitely my favorite side. Highlight of my visit was all the sauces. Roaches. Roaches everyone!!! Saw one as they were serving my food. Don’t go here. In addition, homeless people keep popping in like it’s the grocery store. This place is nasty. Yuck. Don’t go!!!! Long wait for nasty food

We had high hopes for sugar fire after seeing good review on YouTube videos. but things started off on the wrong foot from the point of ordering. The board to the right of the cafeteria line has prices. The register rang up more than the posted price so I let the cashier know and she was like oh we forgot to change it and would not honor the posted $. Ok. It's only $2 more so I begrudgingly pay. The ribs were very tough. They were not tender with the meat coming off the bone. I had to really get in there and pull the meat off like my dog would. I ended up having to floss my teeth after lol. The ribs were dry and needed sauce with every bite. The fat was also globby and not rendered into the meat. This is in contrast with Pappy's where I used no sauce on 2 different meals/days, so it's not a fluke! The Mac and cheese is decent, very cheesy. The Cole slaw is mayo based which is not my preference especially with fatty, rich bbq--I feel vinegar based is better to contrast the richness.

First time patron, asked the cooks/food preparers suggestions. Got Brisket dip with extra sides to try them out. Loved the Portabelo Fries and Buffalo Turkey Tots. Potato salad was a little sweet for me. Other than that the Brisket was cooked to perfection, so tender and juicy. My wife that doesn't like coffee had the Coffee bbq sauce and was her Favorite!!! Can't wait to return!
