We ate a late lunch on a Friday.Staff friendly. Food presentation was good. Ample portions. Very tasteful.Definitely recommend

This our favorite restaurant for Mexican food in this area. Family owned, delicious, and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and the menu is diverse. When you go, take a mason jar of salsa home with you!

Well after coming here MANY, MANY, MANY times for years, since it's (WAS) my all time favorite place for Fish Tacos, I can honestly say I won't ever go back!!! There is ALOT more good authentic Mexican Restaurants to go to that would care and take care of my needs if I had a problem as I did with my food! Los Chavez DEFINITELY doesn't care!!!! From the time we got there the waiter was more busy talking to another waitress than take our order- but after being there awhile it was a common practice he did to every table. We had to ask for the cheese dip we ordered 2 times before we finally got it from the other waitress all together. He never refilled our empty drinks, empty salsa, or empty chips...we had to stop him and ask for refills and one time he actually groaned out loud because we interrupted his conversation with the waitress but like I said " a common practice he did with everyone" Besides he'll be gone soon anyway none of them stay long! But my 1 star rating is from the AWFUL food I received! My fish was maybe 1 1/2 inches long in each taco (3) and so stinkin' salty it was like licking a salt lick!!! I did complain to our waiter & he went and got the owner without me asking. Welllll she (Julie) came out with a VERY BAD attitude... I guess she had a few other complaints today and was tired of them (her words) because she was sooo RUDE to me! Throwing up her hands like oh well when I was explaining my problems. With her "I don't care, I didn't cook today" attitude I tried to show her my problem she didn't want to see that one fish fillet was cut into thirds and each single little 1/3 piece was put into a tortilla. She blamed her cook, that she'll talk to him and tell him not to do that again...turned and walked away. WOW...wtf! No apology, just a shitty attitude!!! We over looked in the past the fact that they are not serving authentic Mexican food, the refried beans SUCK, they only serve cheddar cheese instead of good queso cheese on everything, some of the chips are usually stale probably leftovers from the day before, they change staff like underwear, the rice is hard from being over microwaved or just old, the street tacos are not even close to being street tacos, and the portions are on the small side because I REALLY loved the Fish Tacos...But I won't tolerate rude! Since the Covid-19 pandemic has really hit small family owned restaurants really hard you would think they want to keep our business! (We want to help these small Mom and Pop establishments to keep them going through these hard times & we frequent them regularly) I know they have their regulars but I can't see them keeping this dump afloat...hell will have to freeze over before I go back!

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the St. Peters, O'Fallon, St. Charles area! All of the food is great, they have great specials almost everyday, and the staff are quick and friendly. This is our go-to place, particularly for chimichangas!

Great little secret of St. Peters. Great Mexican food, friendly staff and owners, & AMAZING salsa (made from scratch)!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this restaurant!! My favorite is the Los Chavez special but their tamales are wonderful also!
