I was so looking forward to trying the restaurant. So much hype concerning their excellence. The food was okay. Nothing to get a National review on. My shrimp were so tough, I couldn't eat them, seriously could not cut them with a knife. We had a carrot cake that we split for dessert that was not fully cooked. Service was lackluster. Overall very mediocre at best.

Everything is good and the quality consistent. The staff friendly. We live have a lake cabin about 25 miles away and make it here about once a month. The location is somewhat isolated, but very pleasant. I recommend reservations if planning to visit on a weekend or holiday.

We did not see posted that a reservation is a requirement. We got inside to the restaurant at 4:30. Only a few car's in the parking lot. We've tried other times but they are closed most day. So we were excited coming all the way from St. Louis that on a hot Summer day June 25th(not a holiday) a Sunday they were open hours 4:00-6:00. It's a drive but we were hoping it would be worth it. But, they greeted, us with NO, the chief said they were not taking anyone else. So unless you don't want to risk all the efforts to work around their schedule and go when they open, but not. Don't bother or bring a snack because you might be turned away and not nicely either.

We arrived in the late afternoon for wine tasting and dinner. We had dinner reservations for 5:00 p.m. With the large inside and outside seating areas, plus it was prior to the summer vacation period, reservations were not needed. Beautiful location on top of a hill out in the country. The scenery was amazing. The wine tasting was a disappointment. As we were finishing, the server told us about the fire that had destroyed all of their wines and port several months earlier and they were serving wines made by other wineries but labeled as theirs. None of what we tasted was made with Chaumette grown grapes. Next up was dinner. After reading the reviews of the restaurant, we had high expectations and scheduled this dinner to be the highlight of our trip. It did not live up to the hype. The prices were high and the food average. After looking over the menu, my wife opted for the hamburger. It was really good but very pricey. I opted for the pasta which was priced about right and had excellent taste, but ended up with three mouthfuls of gristle because they had used poorly prepared thigh meat. We decided against dessert. Between the wine news and the food, the visit was not what was expected.

This place was horrible. The food was terrible and the staff was rude. Everything was way overpriced. McDonald’s would have been better.

Outstanding food. The shrimp étouffe and pan seared chicken were excellent. The service was superb. But because the dining room was connected to the tasting bar the noise level was excessive. Slamming doors, loud voices, and shouting people detracted from an anniversary intimate dinner.

Chef Rob is genius and all the food he and his staff creates is delicious. He also can prepare a meal gluten free and is careful for no cross contamination. We keep coming back because of the mouth watering and amazing food!!! Highly recommend!!!

My friend and I shared a tossed salad that included delicious salmon. The vineyard's scenery was gorgeous. What a great place for lunch along the Route du Vin wine trail in Ste. Genevieve!

Much more than your normal winery fair, this was delicious! The flat breads and the salmon were a favorite with our group of ladies.

We stayed at the Chaumette villas, and recommend them highly!! They were elegant accommodations, pet friendly, quiet, beautiful!! We happened to be there on a Sunday--Wednesday, and the winery and restaurant were closed at that time. We wanted to get away from the fireworks for our service dog, and celebrate our anniversary. The rooms offer some kind of kitchen (fridge/microwave/ dishwasher, or full kitchen). They have a swimming pool, hiking trails, and more. I understand that theeeir restaurant is excellent. We did have a bottle of their wine--Vignoles--excellent!

Had a reservation.. got there .. was informed in route that there hot tops and grill went out ... cold food only .. What a waste of my morning . 30 plus minute drive.. other than the young staff .. no manager in view or immediately on hand .. I do understand things happen .. but a cell phone message .. with spotty reception ... I've worked in the industry... there is no reason to have waited 30 minutes before our reservation 12:15 to call ... I was really looking forward to our visit... was going to buy some wine .. nah ..selection was small and spotty.. except for just stuff with chaumette logos in place.. the wine placement should be front and center!

Worth a stop off the beaten path. We had the burger and the chicken flatbread and the garlic Parmesan French Frys. All were perfection. The wine was also tasty.

Excellent food. Beautiful setting. We both had salmon with ginger and potatoes and spinach. The service was excellent and we look forward to returning another time

What a beautiful winery. Outside dining with breathtaking view and excellent food. Wine is good, not outstanding, but adds just the right touch to visiting this winery. You won’t be disappointed if you visit this winery!
