Dined at The Sycamore House in commemoration of an anniversary. Everything about the place from ambience to service to presentation to taste exceeded every expectation. Had the Thai Lemongrass Soup, Poisson Amandine (speckled trout), and Dark Chocolate Brownie with Brandied Cherries. Note: The blueberry ice cream was lagniappe from my server. Elegant yet eclectic, and as fine as any restaurant I've dined at. My new favorite place anywhere, including NOLA.
Excellent. Can't believe it took us two years to try it. Old house atmosphere reminds me of Brigtsen's in New Orleans. Service is attentive but not invasive. Feels much more local than the other bigs downtown....Fields/Thorny O. Recommend.

Joined friends for dinner here recently. Lovely atmosphere, attentive service. While the food was good, I found the menu to be somewhat limited. I greatly enjoyed the savory cheesecake, as did my companions. My Ropa Vieja was a bit dry, unfortunately; more attention to cooking time might be warranted, but the sauce on the dish was outstanding. The cocktails were well-crafted also.
