I have been a customer of Cafe Azteca since they were located in the back of Overby’s Antiques. So after that building burned and they relocated I have continued to come. I moved away for 17 years but upon moving back I went back for a visit. Food is still awesome. Up in price from the early 90’s, but what isn’t ? Their salsa and chips are the best I have ever had and hands down the best Mexican food in the Jackson Metroplex. When my job brings me this way I always go for take out !

Came in with my husband and daughter. There was one waitress who was attentive and friendly. Given the size of the place, it's understandable there is only one waitress. No complaints about the food. The food came out hot and was exactly what we ordered. The hot sauce was actually pretty hot. Being from Texas I was glad to have hot sauce that didn't just taste like tomato sauce. My only negative thought is that it was a bit expensive for a couple of plates (shared with our 4yr old) compared to other Mexican restaurants. Despite that, I will still go back. I would recommend this place.

Beat Mexican in town. Not much to look at but you don’t eat the ambience. And it’s not very healthy. Uh, this isn’t a Planet Fitness review. It’s Mexican food and it’s extraordinary.

This is my favorite Mexican joint. It's a crappy location and the ambience is ho hum--not as nice as others. This review is based on the food, which is great, starting with the chips and sauce (primo). Service is nice, price is a value. We like it.

Recently ate here and their chips and salsa was so good that I bought 3 servings of it for football tail-gating. The place is small, but they have some excellent Mexican food.

The restaurant has a terrible odor like old fish. The salsa taste like what I can buy at Walmart. The entree I got was ok. I wanted fajitas, waitress says they are out.

Hidden in downtown brandon, you may not see it at first. But once you find it, it is worth it! I usually go for takeout and the restaurant could use some cosmetics but all of that leaves your mind when you try the food. BEST BURRITO EVER!!!

If you want authentic Mexican food this is the place. I've traveled all over Mexico and this is the closest thing to being in Mexico you'll find. The home made salsa is the best anywhere. The food is good and inexpensive. If you want the typical American-Mexican atmosphere and food go to Fernando's or any of the other thousand or so Mexican places around. Some of my family agree with me and love the place. Others would just as soon eat a sandwich. You'll have to decide for yourself. If you go, be sure and check out the restrooms.
