This is, hands down, the best BBQ place in Gulfport. Maybe the world. David "Big Roosta" Simmons has been hittin' food grand slams since we used to buy food out of his home kitchen and then food truck.I can't say enough good things. The collard greens are amazing. The pulled pork with slaw is out of this world. The smash burgers are super tasty. You'd better get there quick, especially on seafood Fridays, because Big Roostas WILL sell out.
We were highly disappointed! Expensive low quality food. Tiny wings were dry and hard with rubbery skin. Fried chicken thighs were fried fast undercooked and extremely salty. The ribs were mushy, wet and salty. We threw away the sides before taking a picture. The macaroni was dry, clumpy and tasteless. The baked beans were super sugary sweet. The collard greens were dreadful. We noticed how morbidly obese women with huge stomachs were streaming in and out of the restaurant so we figured it had delicious food but to our dismay that wasn't the case. Unhealthy, fattening, salty (over seasoned), undercooked and overcooked foods. Disgusting overpriced food not fit for human consumption.
