Loved this place. But it has closed it's doors. I do hope that the Mr. Carranza can open up another restaurant if and when the ecomy takes an upturn. His establishment was a plus for Mexican food and community involvement. Going to miss that personal touch of Mr. Mercedes checking on dining patrons. You don't see that much these days.

Got carry out ordering 3 items. Order consisted of 2 sets of 3 soft tacos, one set chicken and one set beef. Chicken nachos with no beans or guac was also on the order. What we received was two set of hard shell tacos (one been & one chicken). The tacos were very heavy on lettuce. The nachos only had chicken and cheese- nothing else. I'll stick with seafood for the rest of my trip or go elsewhere for a better takeout experience.

Sorry to say, the only redeeming quality is the service. Very friendly and putting up with my wife's poor spansh, our server was a gem. The food was, to put it bluntly, dreadful. The green pork chili tasted of little else but vinegar and cumin, the red sauce tasted like watered down Pace sauce to the point of being Italian rather than Mexican according to my wife. I'm afraid I can't recommend this place for their food.

If you want to order nachos, then this is the place to.go because they serve the best and you may choose from a couple of different toppings. The portion size can feed two people and they are not stingy with the ground beef. Dine in or place a to- go order .They also have a great menu offering a variety fir you to choose from. Prices are affordable and the wait staff are professional friendly and welcoming.

Say hi to Jose for me when you stop in - such a great guy who provided excellent service and has a good sense of humor. The street tacos were terrific! I know it's a good Mexican restaurant when they have Al Pastor and they do it right. Kudos to El Agave for A+ Al Pastor & good margaritas, too.

This was our first visit but won’t be the last. We finally found our go-to Mexican food on the Mississippi Gulf Coast! Friendly service and the food was absolutely fantastic! Great salsa, too!

Another great meal. You can’t go wrong eating here. Order the street tacos if you don’t know what to get…. Service is outstanding. So if your in the Gulfport MS area, it’s worth a short detour. … don’t forget to get dessert.

We were skeptical when we first arrived at this restaurant , but it was the only place open and that did not have a 45 minute + wait to get seated.. This ended up being a really great place to eat! The food was very good and the service was equally so. Drinks were very good also. You can't do better for Mexican food than El Agave in any of this area of Gulfport and surrounding area.

The first sign that we should have left is that when we arrived the place had only two tables seated and the person cleaning the table looked at us and didn't seat us. We waited for 10 minutes prior to being seated. Street Tacos on the menu. No price and no information. They are $9.50 for 3. I had to ask that. Then you can't mix the meats. Only chicken and asada can be mixed. But again that's not listed on the menu. And the salsa tastes like someone dumped an entire bottle of chili powder in it. My son ordered a kid's meal and the fries were undercooked. The place is dirty. I would not recommend this place.

I felt I just had to leave a review after my first time dining here. So of course on Cinco de Mayo most of the Mexican restaurants were going to be super busy, which I expected. So me an my family decided to go to one of the most popular restaurants in the area on 49. When we finally reached the host we were told it would be a 2 hr wait. So we decided to try El Agave since it wasn’t too far away. The host told us it would be about an hour wait so we decided to wait, but not even 10 minutes later we were seated! Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items and very patient with my kids. Once we ordered we figured it would take a while to get our food because the place was jam packed. To our surprise the food came out fast, really fast in fact! The food was delicious (although I would’ve liked a stronger margarita) and El Agave saved the evening for me and my family! I highly recommend you try this place out; definitely made a repeat customer out of me!

Great service from our waiter. LOTS of choices on the menu. Probably about 80 or more. The food came out fast, was hot, and delicious. I also was able to customize my food with the choice of meat. I only gave them a 4 because no one was in the front when we arrived and it took over 5 minutes for someone to come and seat us. This will be my go to for Mexican food in Gulfport for now. ?

I'm so disappointed. The drinks was good. But other then that the food was not at all good. We decided to try it out because a friend recommended. But definitely was not impressed. Food seem microwaved. And I could barely get a laugh or smile out the waiter.Definitely an experience

Fast seating, ordering, and food delivery to the table.Food was as ordered, no surprise.Server could have checked on us more often; better service than other overworked venues give.Solid 4 stars, a real not-so-hidden gem of Gulfport dining!
