I just left there and didn't eat. I waited for my food and noticed the cook doesn't was his hands. He keep a table in front of the hand washing sink so he never uses it. He kept cleaning his hands with a towel that's hanging on the side of his pants inside of the waist band touching his skin. I watched the guy take out raw hamburger season it all bare hand slide it in the oven and while his hands on the towel hanging from his shorts. Then when I got my food and open the container to check my food there was a long hair sticking out of the Bunn on top of the burger. I didn't open any thing else. I showed the lady and asked for a refund. Don't risk your health! Don't eat there!

My brother and I stopped on our way through to Louisiana and are so glad we did! The outdoor seating was comfortable and clean. The Jr. Burgers were the perfect size for us and absolutely delicious. The garlic potato wedges were phenomenal with a nice crisp and tons of flavor. If we lived around here, we'd be back!

This place is terrible!! The burgers are almost raw, even though you tell him you want them burnt... I've tried this place two times- two years apart.. and it's been the same way. Service is okay. Atmosphere is smoky because they don't have a vent hood that allows the smoke to escape the room.

If you haven’t tried this little gem, why not?!! This small, family owned, locally owned burger shop is a must try! From traditional burgers to, not your every day burger they are amazing! Cooked when you order just for you. Prices are comparable to the box burger joints, but these burgers are so much better! I tried to take pictures before I started eating but I couldn’t stand it and had to take some bites even though everything was piping hot off the grill!! I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I got the bacon bacon cheeseburger. The burger was so juicy and full of flavor, the bacon was super thick and cooked to perfection. I also got the loaded potato wedges and they were amazing!! Melty cheese and even some burnt cheese on the edges which I love. The prices are a little higher but for what you get I’d much rather be spending my money at a local place. I’m a harsh judge of burgers and The Burger Shop absolutely delivers!! I’ll be back soon!

It aien't fast food.....because they make it fresh when you order, with a friendly staff, they do get your order out quickly & the food is good.You can dine in or take out.
The burgers that my children and I ordered were quite good. However, my husband found a piece of wood plastic in his shrimp po’ boy. The cook merely replied “my bad” and did not offer to replace the sandwich or comp it. My husband also found a weird tissue in his chili that looked like skin or organ lining (see pic). Needless to say we won’t be returning.

This place makes a great burger. The 1/2 lb mushroom Swiss burger will not disappoint. For the price and quality, this place is worth it in many ways. Oh and don’t forget the potato wedges to go along with the burger. A wonderful change to the typical boring french fry that is served everywhere else. I was tooling around Hernando, MS with a friend who just moved there and we both were shot with hunger arrows at the same time. Neither one of us knew the area well, so we pulled out the Yelp app to see what was close by. We found The Burger Shop was close and headed that way. C'mon on! Any restaurant calling itself The Burger Shop better be throwing down burgers in the kitchen like somebody's Momma's cooking. I know, I know. There is a restaurant chain calling themselves "King" in the burger arena but I don't have a dog in that fight. The restaurant is very unassuming from the outside. We entered and were greeted in the most warmly Southern manner imaginable. Super nice proprietors. I immediately got the nostalgic feeling of the neighborhood mom and pop restaurants I use to patronize growing up in New England. The kind of place where you were on a first name basis with the proprietors or in my case I was known as Bill and Theresa's oldest boy. Several tables for dining in and a glass front soda pop cooler to the side. We chatted with the proprietors before sitting to peruse the menu. The menu was very intriguing, Many specialty burgers of course but some interesting items. Such as fried egg, sauteed green peppers and sauteed red onions as some toppings. Rotel mac and cheese, garlic potato wedges, loaded potato wdges or Tony seasoned wedges as sides. Turkey burger or turkey/spinach burger. Mahi Mahi or blackened Cajun shrimp po'boy. Cowbell, The Hotty Toddy and The Front Porch as sandwich names for examples.The food is cooked to order so we elected to stay and eat inside while waiting even though a nice covered outdoor seating area is available. I ordered the blackened Cajun shrimp po'boy and my friend ordered the Swiss mushroom burger and garlic potato wedges. The food was fantastic! Absolutely delicious! It was like going to a BBQ at Chef Gordon Ramsey's. Everything cooked fresh to order with good ingredients. It was a very personal dining experience. Not like going to a restaurant to eat experience. The food reminded me of a great picnic or country Summer holiday get together meal. I'm definitely going back. I have already envisioned the next experience. I like to take the dog to Sardis Dam and find a nice shaded spot to read and play music on my little Wonderboom speaker or listen to podcasts and watch people fish and look at waterfowl. A stop by The Burger Shop to get a to-go lunch will be perfect for my next sojourn to the lake. Great picnic lunch that I won't have to make. Quaint little shop in Hernando. Went for dinner (party of 3). Had the chili, steak burger, bb king burger, loaded fries and royal crown burger. Staff was nice and helpful, food was delivered in reasonable time as well. Nobody had any complaints. Food was on point (7.5/10). Would definitely recommend.
