Had seen it a few times while passing through. We decided to pop in for a drink and try a bite. The place is cool enough, but, very open and comes across as a little underwhelming. The bar is cool, so we sat there. Pretty sure the bartender forgot to put in our food order, so we had a long wait. It was good flavor (very good) when we finally got it. The tots were soggy, though...like, maybe it was rushed when we reminded them we'd put in a food order as well. Also, at $17 for the brisket tots and having two drinks each while we waited, the bill was steep for the experience.

Got three apps all were amazing. My dinner on the other hand not so much. I got the Asian Chop salad with tuna. Not much flavor kind of bland. Others in my group did like their dinners. They do make good cocktails.

We just left after over 20 minutes of being ignored by a waiter. The place was half full and while it appeared the could have used another waiter we watched this guy take two other table’s drink and food orders. He never spoke to us after serving us our water. I hope this was an isolated event because they won’t last much longer with this lack of service.

Loved Barrelhouse! The atmosphere was awesome! The staff was fun and got the job done well! Brisket flatbread is one of their best appetizers. The margarita was super tasty and they were able to serve well house shots! I had grilled chicken, and it was cooked beautifully and served with a side of pesto. YUM!! My husband got the fish and chips which was cooked beautifully as well! The chips (fries) were PERFECT. Crisp and delicious. The only thing he didn't like was his tartar sauce but he's so picky. lol. Definitely on our list of date night places!

When you come in make sure you check the ketchup bottles. Brown/black around the rim. Mold!! Found this on multiple bottles when trying to find a clean one. The bottle pictured is after asking one from behind the bar still mold. Also had a weird taste. Be careful when ordering fish, tasted a little past it’s prime.

Driving through the US and stopped in Jackson and ended up staying nearby for the night. We walked into Fondren and grabbed a small bite. I had the wedge (smaller version) salad which was amazing without a meat add on. Although, I could have eaten a full size version. My husband got brisket flatbread. He gave me a piece and it was so good. I got a IPA Spacedust and my husband got the Buenavista (Mexican Lager). Both were fabulous, although, the Spacedust could be a little colder. I couldn't believe they had it on tap. Bravo! Loved the area of Fondren. Hidden little gem.

Atmosphere, food, service - this place has it all! This is definitely one place that everyone who visits Jackson should come. The portions are nice for the price, and you can tell the food is cooked with love. Definitely will be coming back.

We were traveling through Jackson and got a recommendation from another local business to give this place a try. The food was outstanding and a solid 5 stars. I would give the service a 4, only because our server was not knowledgeable about some of the menu items and when the restaurant got busy he basically forgot about us. I would still recommend trying it because we felt the food was outstanding.

Brisket tater tot's were good. Everything else was average or a little less.. not a fan of how they season their food and our drinks ran completely dry multiple times. Probably wouldn't come back unless I was across the street like I was today. They also charge for refills on tea.. ‍

Nice place but they were understaffed so service was quite slow. However, the staff were all friendly. The food was quite good and we will return some time.

Arrived just before closing, we were seated promptly and service was excellent. There was great live entertainment and the drinks were well made. I can't recall our gentlemen server's name but very personalable, familiar with menu items and offer insight on choices and accommodating to our preferences, he reads his customers well through brief conversations.

Stopped in for lunch and the food was great! The blue plates and wrap we ordered were both delicious. The tater tots and onions were both so crispy and good. The staff were all attentive and friendly as well.

Tried this place for a second time last night around 5:30-6:00ish with my spouse & was pleased with everything again this time. Brisket Tots appetizer is amazing & definitely recommend the Blueberry Pom Martini! Relaxed atmosphere, good service, great food & drinks. 10/10 would recommend.

Good service. Ordered the Brisket Flatbread for an appetizer, it was delicious! Will definitely order again. I also ordered the fish and chips. The fries were okay, nothing amazing. But the fish was great, very well done along with their house tartar sauce. If you like Margaritas order their house margarita. Nice twist on a classic.
