We were seated and tended to by the owner. The food was great, with seafood that tasted fresh! Great, homey decor and environment. We can’t wait to go back to try more of the menu!

We were seated and tended to by the owner! So friendly! Our food was great, traditional Cajun style, and tasted like fresh seafood. The decor and restaurant environment was homey and comfortable! Can’t wait to go back to try more of the menu!

On my birthday March 12th, I wanted to try something different. Everything was amazing. My husband and I enjoyed everything. Will be returning very soon. I had the Steamed Seafood Platter and my husband had the Fried Seafood Platter with Fried Catfish, Shrimp, and Fries!

The 3 times I’ve tried to dine here it was closed. Which was contrary to the advertised operation hours. The most recent visit the automated phone system told me to order online because they were not accepting call in orders. I received confirmation that said my order was being prepared. I arrived at 6pm and the door had an open light on and the door signage said they were opened until 8pm. I tried to open the door and they were closed. After I paid for my order online. Please make sure your website does not accept orders if you are closed.

Had a fantastic dinner at Gumbo Girl. The Gumbo and turkey necks were delicious. This is the second stop on our 2022 HBCU Gumbo tour, and so far this is the best Gumbo we've had since our travels from Dallas. What's more, this is the first restaurant we've been to that had turkey necks on the menu.

This was my first time at Gumbo Girl. I ate the turkey necks with rice and cabbage and everything was DELICIOUS!! I ordered my food to go because I had some errands to run. I got home about 45 minutes after I picked up and it was still warm. The inside of the restaurant is so elegant and beautifully decorated that my next visit will definitely be dine in. Overall this restaurant gets a 5 out of 5 stars!

Went today and took forever to get the food out. At $24.00 a bowl for surf and turf gumbo, it is about 2x above the proper price point. We also had a side of cornbread which was one portion and while very good, again way overpriced. I didn't finish my bowl and after a few bites, wished I had tried the rice and beans or turkey neck. At $12.00 I would have given it one more star. The ambiance is nice and while the bar is closed, it seems like it would be a great place to get a drink after work. They have really done a nice job dressing up the place and it's location has plenty of parking. Maybe if they offered different size bowls and put some shrimp po boys on the menu it would draw me back for a second visit.

Food was great! Spent 3 hours there because they were ahort staffed. So most of the time was waiting for 1 item at a time to come to the table. We made the most of the experience but for the money spent, I will not go back ant time soon. They need more help

Absolutely delicious gumbo!! Not to mention the ambiance and Christmas decor was absolutely beautiful. The owners were running the show; greeting patrons, serving, cleaning, cooking. They were so welcoming and friendly! Would recommend this place for great Creole food and beautiful atmosphere!! Even just for beignets and coffee!!

My first thought was that I just walked in a magazine. The restaurant looks great. I ordered the Homestyle Turkey Necks...as I was eating I kept thinking...I should of ordered the Gumbo...reason why...if the turkey necks are this good...then the Gumbo...what the restaurant is named after has to be amazing. Another thing I noticed there is no salt or pepper on the table...now I understand why...you shouldnt need it. Everything was great...also if the menu says it has a spicy kick to it...you better believe they mean it.
