I'm trying to figure out how this restaurant came to be. Someone in Meridian wanted to open a restaurant, and decided, despite never having tasted food from the region, what the town needed was some Mediterranean fare?This is my favorite regional cuisine, so I am extremely familiar. While some elements are maybe a little harder to come by, as a rule, much of it is very simple to make with easily acquired ingredients.Based on the reviews, I was so hopeful.I was so disappointed.I feel this is yet one more time where Google reviews have let me down.This is not Mediterranean food. This tasted like someone read a book about Mediterranean food years earlier then attempted to recreate the cuisine from memory.Seriously, just skip this. If you're curious to try something exotic, find a highly rated YouTube video and make it at home. I promise you won't be as off the mark as this restaurant.Oh and at all costs, avoid the baklava. It was the only regional dessert on the menu, yet I had to explain what it was to our server. We got it to go. After eating a piece of it, hubby and I both suffered for hours and threw the rest in the bin.The Lentil soup wasn't soup... The consistency was more like thick oatmeal--let's call it lentle paste.Lamb tasted OK, but the spice profile was all wrong.The hummus, we'll one does not just throw a can of garbonzo beans in the food processor and all it hummus... It requires other ingredients--like flavor.The dressing on the house salad was pretty good.Seriously, don't let the reviews foil you. Skip this.

I will not return to this restaurant. The food was not good to me. That may be because it's Indian, and I am just not used to it. I spent $71 on two people and barely ate anything.Where the real issue comes in is when my son went to fill his to-go plates. We found long black hair in it. I compared it to my own hair, and it looked nothing like it.A manager or owner came by to ask if we were good and I showed him the hair. He basically blamed it on me. Like I put it in there on purpose. I told him that I was not requesting a refund and just wanted to let them know. He said I'd go roll the cameras back, and he never came back, lol. I guess he realized he was wrong. I just paid the bill and left.Afterward, I went to the vape shop, and the same guy who was supposed to look at the cameras was working the register.The waitress was excellent. I had no issues with her at all.

lamb shawarma was cold; but tasty. the lamb ghallaba sandwich was made to order and was delicious. I believe it is one of two halal restaurants in meridian. the platters are a little expensive and the sandwiches are around 6-9$they are also halal

The best kept secret in Meridian is the Shish House. Best Mediterranean food in town. We had the Lamb Ghallaba and the Kofta. The portions were very generous, enough to feed my wife and myself for 2 separate meals. The garlic spread was out of this world and complimented the hummus flawlessly. The salad was very fresh and the lentil soup was hearty and hit the spot on a cool afternoon. I will be returning in the very near future.
