While over the road with my better half, he's an otr truck driver. The truck ended up breaking down, and we ended up staying 4 days in Tupelo, Ms. While the truck was in +. Obviously, if I'm visiting a state, it would be insane to order your everyday burger and fries and not eat local food from that state. So I wanted to eat something that said Mississippi all the way. While checking in to the hotel, we overheard the ladies working the front desk talk about food and her parents owning a resteraunt. My other half and I were hungry and was wondering what was around, so he went down to ask the front desk ladies about any places they recommend and they gave us some near by places and he had mentioned that we overheard them talking about there parents that own a restaurant. She said well how far are you willing to travel?" we didn't mind. We were taking an uber. Although it wasn't the middle of town close, it wasn't too far. It gave off major Mississippi feels. Just a local Lil restaurant off the side of the road in the sparse end of town. Very this is Mississippi. We started with some fried pickles(omgod a-m-a-zing!). I ordered the grilled filled catfish that came with the side of coleslaw and got the sweet baked potatoe The sweet baked potatoe was amazing with the whole meal l. It all went together and the coleslaw tasted exactly like it should, just like I remembered when I was a kid and my great grandma would make. That was probably the best part. I was taking a bite and instantly sent you back in time to a very particular taste you didn't realize you forgot about. I'm not a fan of catfish, well any fish; and honestly, I'll never eat catfish again. It was surprisingly really good. The issue wasn't with how they cooked it or how it tasted it was with me not being able to get over the fact that it was fish. It's definitely worth trying, anyone driving through Tupelo, Mississippi. There isn't much to do out there but there is great culture and they all great accents. Oh yeah, and Elvis Presley was from there. Definitely a good Lil place to stop for a few hours if you happen to drive through there. Go check out Elvis Presley childhood home and take a walk around the reflection pond then head to the mall they got there and end it with eating some fresh cooking off the outskirts of town at tin top. They wont disappoint.

Well worth the short drive from the Interstate. Had the grilled chicken cluck. Grilled chicken was tender, juicy and flavorful, topped with cheese and sweet grilled onions. Sweet potato was baked just right. Salad bar was fresh. Great music not too loud and humorous signs all around. Friendly service from nice people.
