This place is like having breakfast at your grandmothers house. Coffee is strong and black and you won't find any frozen biscuits here. These biscuits are like a pillow . Brown on the outside and oh so fluffy on the inside. The country fried steak and homemade gravy was a great choice. This place has been in business since 1959 and when you walk in you will quickly figure out why.I can't wait to come back to this place and try their lunch and dinner options. I bet they have a killer burger but I will review it when I try it. Thanks for reading give this place a tryParking: This place is located on Lamar Blvd. If the GPS takes you to the back of the building ignore it. Parking is in the front.

The Beacon is the best. The price is reasonable, the food is good, and the staff are the best. Judy is the best waitress you can ask for. I’m a lifetime customer.Parking: Large parking lot

I came in town to spend the New Year with my Mom and step-dad. We decided to get some breakfast out. They told me about the Beacon and how long it had been there. It is a quaint little place. I felt like I was stepping back in time. It had that old home town feeling. The breakfast was fresh and hot and very tasty. You need to go check it out if you haven't tried it yet. You won't be disappointed.

We were on a road trip that brought us to Oxford MS. We ended up having breakfast at Beacon restaurant. Our waitress was fabulous. Very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed and asked for. The restaurant had the feel of a southern meat and three. Very relaxing. The food was good, I had pancakes they had crispy edges and were light and fluffy in the middle. The bacon had a nice smoked taste. My husband sausage, eggs biscuits and "hash browns". He said the food was ok, but the hash browns were more like fried potatoes. All in all we had a good filling meal that kept us going on the next leg of our trip.

The food is good and reasonably priced, but they are not dependable when it comes to hours of service. They say breakfast is served until 11am, but all too frequently they stop serving earlier. You really can't count on much here.

I will NEVER walk through the doors of this place again! The waitress refused to wait on us and stayed so loudly for everyone to hear after she threw our menus and silverware on the table. Judy Pettit is the most rudest waitress I have ever encountered!

Got a sausage biscuit from here. If you're going to charge almost $4.00 for a sausage biscuit it should take more than 3 bites to eat it.

Excellent home town feel. Looks like a place the locals frequent.

This place has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Oxford. My mom loved this place before she passed away. I have tried to carry on the tradition with my children, however because of being from a small town and the issues that come along with it I couldn't even take my son for breakfast without the most rudest waitress loudly stating she was not waiting on us. The sad thing is this hasn't happened only 1 time. I assumed previously it was just busy and someone else had to wait our table every time because the waitress whos section we were in was overwhelmed. So unprofessional but more so not classy on her part! I will never walk through the doors of this place ever again!
