Way expensive ($9 for a dozen tiny cookies!)...they are amazing, though...

I ordered a special cake from here, and a small issue occurred and they went above and beyond to fix the issue. They are truly above standards for customer service. Everyone here was helpful, kind, and I truly enjoyed my experience and interaction which each and everyone of them. Definitely the best place to come

I have been ordering a King Cake every year for over ten years to be shipped to my son in New York. Until this year he has very much enjoyed having a taste of Mardi Gras since he is so far away. The cake arrived a day earlier than what shipping had indicated and that was okay. However the cake itself appeared to be smaller and the icing was nothing more than powdered sugar that had to be mixed and poured on the cake. Previous years the icing came separately packaged to ice the cake which is understandable but to just send dry powdered sugar is not acceptable. No where did I see that this was said to be the new policy for shipping the cake. I cannot waste $70+ to ship a plain cake to my son and expect him to mix powdered sugar to ice the cake. I hate that what had become a little tradition was so disappointing. Unless I can find a bakery capable of shipping a cake that is good and doesn't require mixing the icing ingredients then the tradition has died. Sad that Paul's Pastry decided to change their product resulting in an inferior version of what they were known for.

I've been eating Paul King cakes for a LONG TIME! All that time they were consistently amazing! Until this time they were cold like they just came out of the freezer. The service was also bad. It was not busy, and they seemed pretty aggravated that I had a question about a cake. Prices seem to be going up on everything while the quality seems to be going down. Sad Paul's is doing the same. I can't quit them after one bad trip. So I hope it was not the new norm.

Stopped in at Paul’s on a recent Saturday morning to pick up a King Cake on my way to NOLA as I’ve done many times before. There were plenty of king cakes available, and plenty of available flavors to choose from. As always the cake was fresh and tasty. My only issue was that the checkout process took forever. I waited over 20 minutes just to pay and I was only behind about 3 people. What should have been a 10 minute stop on my trip turned into a 30 minute stop. Will I stop again? Yes. Do I hope this information encourages Paul’s Pastry’s to improve their checkout process? Also, yes.

My mother in Mississippi called the bakery in Picayune to have a King Cake shipped to us in Virginia. When it arrived, it was from a bakery in New Jersey, La Bon Bake Shoppe. Neither the person taking the order nor Paul's website says anything about outsourcing their baking to another state in another region of the country. We have been loyal Paul's King Cake buyers for years, but will not again.La Bon Bake Shoppe website does not hide the fact they are selling "The Original Paul's Pastry Shop King Cakes," they promote it. I wonder why Paul's hides this fact?Additionally the cake we received was pretty bad compared to years past.
