Otto's pizza is VERY pricey, but, man is it ever good! The crust is awesome. I'm not into the fancy specialty pizzas, but every custom pizza I've ordered has been delicious. Even the plain cheese pizza is the best I've had. The staff is always very friendly and warmly greet you each time you walk in. Can't wait for post Covid and we can sit at the indoor picnic tables again! The John Roberts road Otto is fantastic. Always.

Get pizza ANYWHERE ELSE. Otto's Pizza: What kind of jerks do you hire? Only a vile person would put an ash-covered blackened pizza in a sealed box & sell it to a customer. Bad enuf you charge $20 for paper-thin pizza (ordered w/only pepperoni on it cause that's all we can afford). But then your despicable employees burn it black then go ahead & pass it along, hiding it in a sealed box! My girlfriend & I had never tried Otto's b4 & she had a Dr. appt. near the John Roberts Rd. location. So she ordered a basic pep over there to bring home. For us it would be a treat cause it's pricey. She didn't have time to cut open the sealed box & check out the pie before driving to her medical appointment. An employee with decency would have told the customer: I'm so sorry I burned it and I'll make you another one right away. And if the customer wasn't able to wait, at least refund her money with apologies. Never again going to Otto's. They already robbed us of $20 for garbage that had to be thrown out. Btw you snobs at Otto's, some of us have to work two hours to earn that amount net after taxes. Check out the pics, you can even see the ashes. Wish I had thought to take a pic of my mouth after that bite, it actually had a black ring of soot around it! Our hands were black w/soot just handling this debris. It wasn't even food. Don't throw out your money like we did, get pizza ANYWHERE ELSE.

Pizza was amazing !!!!! Looked beautiful inside. Difficult to find - GPS gives location to other side of the building. But when you call they give great directions.

That was one fantastic pizza!!!! I ordered the sausage and Vidalia onion. I will most certainly be ordering from here again. Quick service. Still hot when it was delivered. Fresh salad (no needed) but still great! Thanks!

Super disappointing. We ordered online - pickup time given. We arrived on time, food was ready. I bet if all the stars aligned it would have been amazing! We ordered a small cheese pizza, a small pepperoni pizza, and a Caesar salad (if we're calling it that). The cheese pizza was so dry - it must have been sitting for an hour. The pepperoni pizza was good. Again, seems like it sat a while also. The salad is what really got to us. It was a bowl of about a cup of romaine. That's it. No homemade croutons that people raced about. No Parmesan cheese. Just that and the mediocre dressing. Would love to try it again if we knew it would be fresh because it really seemed as though it would have been amazing.

Some really really good pizza and breadsticks. Everything seemed fresh not frozen. The sauce was very authentic and the pizza was thin and crispy. We just moved up here from PA/NY and the pizza was comparable to that style for us. Would highly recommend

Pizza was great. Taste was perfect, perfectly cooked, wasn't soggy or greasy from cheap ingredients. I was very impressed

I never thought I'd like it but I ordered a pulled pork mango pizza. I'm pretty impressed how good it is. The pork had just the right amount of spice. I usually get pepperoni or sausage but glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and got this.

Just stopped off the highway at OTTO's for pizza and it was amazing. Soooo good! Had a pepperoni and eggplant ricotta. Thanks for being open. Hubby said it hit the spot and I agree!

So, I ordered a pizza at 647pm. At 740 pm I was told that it would be another 30 minutes. At 930 pm I called and was told it was in the way. It is now 10pm and I have no pizza and 4 hungry family members. If you couldn't deliver my pizza I really wish I would have been told rather then having everyone go without eating. This after a long day on the road and at airports. Thanks! Update: At 1002 pm the pizza was delivered. The delivery driver was very apologetic and said that the pizzas were free of charge and also gave us a very generous gift certificate. All without us asking for any of it. That's how you should treat customers. It should be noted that the roads were very bad with snow and ice.

This is a must visit when you are in Maine. Though it is a chain, each location has its own vibe and this one is pretty relaxed considering it's so close to the bustle of the mall area. If you only try one thing, get a slice of the Mashed Potato Bacon Scallion pizza- you won't regret it!

Pizza is now my favorite food and the Portland area has many fantastic places to pick up a great pie. Ottos is no exception. My wife and I stopped by their South Portland location and was surprised to find such an extensive list of specialty pizzas. Personally, I generally stick with the basics such as a pie loaded with meats or veggies. My pizza philosophy is the more toppings the better. I ordred a small pepperoni with fresh mushrooms and it was fantastic. The crust was thin and crispy and the fresh mushrooms and pepperoni created a combination of fresh and spicy flavors. My wife, on the other hand will often step out of the box and try something completely different. She certainly found that place here at Otto's and ordered a small Ricotta & Basil pizza. She loved it and particularly was pleased with the fresh basil. So, it you are a Pizza traditionalist or someone who wants to try new pizza combinations then Otto's Pizza simply is a must pizza joint to try. Enjoy!

Review 1st: Ordered takeout-- 1small sausage and vidalia onion 1 small pepperoni and bacon Ready for pick up when we arrived. Thin, flavorful pizza with sauce spattering technique and just the right herbs and spices Sausage not crumbled (my preference) but uniquely thinly sliced that it is genius. Excellent!! Now the history: I lived in the area when Otto's arrived on Congress Street in Portland. Mainers and transplants alike are aware that Maine is not known for its pizza. Yes, maybe you could get one down at the corner store, at a chain restaurant or cook up a frozen pizza-heck, maybe even make your own, but all leaves one with a longing for real pizza. A real pizza place nearby. Otto's changed all that when it arrived on the scene in Portland. And they offered slices, which meant if you were hesitant you could try and then decide if you liked this quirky take on pizza. I know I was instantly hooked. Now they have multiple locations and are a local Portland area staple. I am still loving it, ate my whole pie and still wanted more!

Grabbed a slice and a brew here before heading to Escape Room next door. Pizza was good and they had a small selection of craft beer. Girl at the counter did seem overwhelmed though, because she was the only on at the register.

We stopped in for dinner and ordered the mashed potato and bacon pizza, and a cheese tortellini pizza. We also got their everything bagel knots. The restaurant itself is very laid back, seat yourself and order at the counter. The "knots" came out first and in a timely manner. They weren't knots but more like dense rolls. They were ok. The pizza had a great crust and was nice and thin. The mashed potato one was a little bland. The bites with more bacon were good but otherwise it was bland. The tortellini pizza was just cheese pizza with plain tortellini. It wasn't bad at all, it just wasn't quite what I expected. Service was good, location was nice, and the crust and cook on the pizza was really good.
