I wrote an earlier 5-star review when the bakery was owned by the former owners. It's not as good now. The quality of the ingredients does not seem to be as good, although they claim to have the same recipes. They do have slightly more variety in the type of baked goods they offer. I'd have to say it is no longer the best cake bakery in town... just an average one out of the many options. The name is also changing to Sugar Daddy's Bakery, so I don't know if it will continue to be listed as Mary McGuire's Cakes on Google. If so this review is for the new Sugar Daddy's only - Mary McGuire's was certainly a 5-star!! I'm really sad that my one and only favorite cake shop in Tupelo is no more.

[review of previous owners].....Best choice for wedding cake! We visited at least 4 other bakeries in town and this was by the most delicious, professional, and friendly. The cake was exactly what we wanted, and the staff worked with us to accommodate everything we wanted. The cake was flawless, and held up wonderfully for the whole evening in an outdoor wedding on a very warm day. Mary McGuire was in my top 2 for wedding vendors!

The best cake business ever. They went above and beyond their call of duty to help me out. Their cakes, cookies, and cupcakes not only look amazing they taste even better than they look. But they are kind and caring people. Wish I could give them 10 stars instead of 5!
