Just did a road trip from FL to WA and stopped at as many bakeries as I could along the way. I have never had bread as good as this bread, the crust is exceptional. Wish I lived close enough to go every day.

A very pleasant surprise in downtown Billings.

Get there early because this place sells out quickly and is very busy.

What a special place! I love coming here any chance I can get, the breads and pastries are so authentic and delicious. Both owners are friendly and so knowledgeable about French baking, and always are willing to strike up a conversation. I have been slowly working my way through their items, I think my favorites are the Pain Au Raisin and the Brioche!

Amazing french bread. Best pain au Chocolat (don't call it a chocolate croissant the Frenchman will be offended) in town. The brioche pastries are also really good.

Le Fournil is a small bread shop from Paris that was picked up and set down on First Avenue North in Billings, Montana. Aliens must have teleported it here. François Morin is the baker. Apparently he was an IT Engineer in a previous life, and when he and his wife (Montana born) decided they wanted to slow down and settle down, Montana's siren song pulled them to Billings. The thing is, François doesn't seem like a man who NEEDS a job so much as a man who has a great passion for baking authentic French breads. He doesn't give off warm fuzzy feelings, he knows his breads are great and you should buy them if you want to eat real, excellent French breads. He makes his daily quota, sells out of it, and closes the doors. There's no decor per se; you're at a counter in his bakery. There are no tables and chairs; It's grab and go. He posts regularly on Facebook with quality imported items he's found and with some of his new offerings. It's authentic French breads to take home, to picnic or to munch on the benches scattered downtown. Le Fournil isn't a breakfast diner, it's a shop.

Lovely local artisans breads - I will have to come back for croissants - only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I'm anxious to try the challah I got - the cinnamon roll and baguette was really good.

Absolutely nothing French about this bread. Tasteless as Albertsons

Fresh, authentic French bread with a very nice owner! Would love to come back the next time I'm in town. Get there early as when he's sold out that's it for the day!

In Billings Montana, lice and he experiences of walking down the streets of Paris. A warm baguette… buttered, cheese or jelly.

The bread is as good as can be imagined. I go each Saturday and wait 10 minutes in line to get the fresh bread, and I am never sorry. It really is as good as bread can be. The baguette crusts are glass-thin and crisp, and the inner part is cloud like. The brioche is divine. The croissants are amazing. I do not think the baker has ever made something badly here.

Wonderful fresh artisan breads. The cinnamon rolls were the best I have ever had.
