The other night I came in without a reservation and the hostess Ava was very rude and I understand having to wait because we just walked in but she completely ignored us. Then was rude walking us to our tables as if she just wanted to get rid of us. For a nice restaurant like Tao I’d expect better service instead of being ignored right when we walk in.

We used to come here all the time but we moved out of state. We sure miss our special chef chicken and all of the other delicious food that we had here. We still haven't found another chicken dish that was as good as this one. We will definitely stop by here if we ever get back to Montana. The staff were always pleasant and the place was really clean too.

We have eaten at this restaurant several times and are not disappointed. The food is beyond delicious, easily one of the best restaurants in town. I recommend the Cantonese pan fried noodles, the Cashew Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Chow Fun, the Pineapple Crispy Shrimp , the Walnut Prawn, Kung Pao Chicken, and the Potstickers. Service is excellent. The bathroom is alright. The towel dispenser usually requires the emergency feed to be used because the main feed is out. The tables are clean.

Pad Thai had no flavor or spice, it tasted like smoke and that was all. Very disappointing. Baozi tasted like the ones you can get from a grocery store deli case. Maybe the other dishes are good, but wasn’t happy with this.

The food was very good. So fresh and hot. I got the Happy Family and it was amazing. Big tasty shrimp and the beef and chicken was so tender. The sauce on it a so flavorful. Good egg rolls. The chandeliers were pretty but the furnishings were stark and cold. There was only one young man who was doing it all except cooking, including bus tables. The wait for food was too long considering it wasn't very busy. Maybe it's a staffing issue but we waited a long time.
Good food, just have to be very patient as it takes quite a while to prepare. Sidenote: the portions are significantly smaller than the price ?.....

Similar experience to many other reviewers. Incredibly slow service. Felt as though only one person was working the kitchen. Spent an hour waiting for king Pao Tofu and Yakisoba Tofu. The food itself was quite good and the service was quite good.

Really pretty interior. Huge chandeliers and it looks nice inside. That's where the positives kinda drop off... I tasted the pineapple Thai rice, drunken noodles and yaki Udon, as well as the spicy tuna and salmon sushi rolls. Kinda odd comment here, but we had the water to drink and it tasted bad, maybe old ice? It's not filtered for sure, definitely tap water, so that being the first thing on the table already is a bad start. Now you're thinking I'm petty, but wait! My pettiness doesn't end there! The service was marginal at best, the sushi came out first, 5 minutes later plates for the sushi, 3 minutes later... chop sticks... smh! The wasabi was oddly dry and powdery. I'd rate their sushi a bit above Albertsons but not by much. The udon noodles were pretty good. The drunken noodles needed more heat and the noodles themselves were rubbery. The Thai pineapple friend rice was made from fresh pineapple which is WAY better than some places in Billings... (Asian sea grill: really? Use real pineapple dudes!) but I didn't like the flavor too much, it had some kind of odd something in it that wasn't appealing to me, but we did eat it all so it couldn't have been that bad. And this is just me, but I really hate it when restaurants leave tails on shrimp, what a hassle, please take the tails off!

Great food and amazing service. I ordered takeout, and they forgot to pack my noodles in the bag. The young man behind the counter came out right away to bring me my noodles, which is impressive in today's world. I will definitely be back!
