The sandwiches are huge. It’s best to eat them right away; they can get soggy quickly. The tomatoes are ridiculously thin and they put sooo much meat on the sandwich. The bread is basic, but it’s convenient if you’re near the campus.
Best sandwich shop in the area! Have been coming to Pickle Barrel since I was a kid and they never miss. Don’t forget to ask for your free pickle with the sandwich as they don’t have a barrel out anymore.

Well-known small sandwich shop with big bites. These folks don’t take shortcuts - they know how to stuff a sub. Pic is a half Ken’s Special. A whole feeds 3 people. Excellent steak hot sandwiches too.Only a few small outdoor tables, so to-go is a good option when it’s busy. Usually about 10-15 min for pickup orders. Across the street from MSU - be mindful of traffic & pedestrians. There’s 2nd location in Livingston.
