We were visiting relatives in Bozeman, and lucked into the Bistro...we were seated upstairs in our own private dining room so less bistro like and we were all pleasantly surprised the locals who we were visiting hadn't know of the place and were equally surprised. All the food was great, selection was good as was the wine selection...so really can't say too much more other than we had a good time and delicious meals

We had a fantastic dinner in the garden last night. The menu is primarily locally sourced, creative and well executed. I had the lamb chops with flathead cherry sauce and it couldn't have been better! The service was also excellent. Shout out to Alex and his team - we'll be back for sure!

The food was outstanding and the service was top notch! I have lived in Bozeman for 30 years and nothing compares to this place and the people that run it! Thanks for such a good down home atmosphere, people, and food. Touché south 9th!

This is one of the best restaurants in Bozeman - maybe THE best. They don’t try to make hip and trendy food, they make classics and they do it perfectly. We love talking with the sommelier and trying her recommendations too.

My wife made a reservation over 4 weeks ago for our 49th anniversary . Two days before we got an email stating they were canceling our reservation. Thanks so much South 9th Bistro.

South 9th Bistro Bozeman How Does this Place Score so High? 802615250 After seeing the reviews, we booked a table on a Friday night. When we arrived, the hostess told us that there would be a wait as to not overwhelm the server. AFter we sat down, the service was fine....she was friendly enough and I think the delay in getting our food was the fault of the kitchen. Anyway....the food. Average at best. We split the ribeye at the server's recommendation. I know a ribeye has a certain amount of fat...but this ribeye had an excessive amount. I had to pull out of my mouth grizzle several times. I was trying to be discreet, but after so many times, I just did not care anymore. There was nothing special about the preparation too. The first course salad was field greens with a small amount of dressing. The much discussed Banana Bread Pudding was dry and tasteless. I ask again....how did this place get such glowing reviews?

It was delicious. Cooked to perfection. Thoroughly enjoyed our birthday dinner. It was our last night in town and the owner squeezedus in since it was a birthday celebration!

This is by far my favorite restaurant as it's so much more than just a place to get a meal. The combination of fine connoisseur-level food, wine and desserts along with world-class service all blend into an intimate atmosphere reminiscent of Europe making the South 9th Bistro experience calming , reflective and romantic. For travelers - it will be a memorable evening in Bozeman, and for locals like my wife and I -It is a nearby getaway that is both refreshing and delicious.

We went to South 9th Bistro to celebrate my birthday, from first impressions, to our exit, everything was amazing! It truly was the best culinary experience I have had in the western region of the lower 48 states to date. Fresh cut roses, beautiful french artwork and warm decór, truly made the ambiance!I ordered the truffle mushroom risotto, and our guests order a ribeye, scallops, a lamb shank, and the halibut.Having a gluten allergy, some restaurants are really difficult to work around regarding their menu (or even cross contamination) but it was so pleasing to see a flourless dessert, and to know that the preparation of the food was a priority, as well as the culinary preferences of their customers. The staff was so friendly, the menu had a variety of different options and flavors, and I cannot wait to go back again!Thank you, Hank, and the entire South 9th Bistro, for your exceptional service, care, and yummy cuisine!

OMG! Rated as the best restaurant in Bozeman, now I see why! Great atmosphere, amazing service, and the best food I have had in years! Had the bruschetta which doubled as a salad, the butternut squash ravioli was rich and so delicious, I can hardly even describe, finished by banana bread pudding. WOW!

Due to covid, it has been a long time since we’ve been here. We were glad to see familiar staff and menu. We had a wonderful meal outdoors. The Crack Tart for dessert was amazing. You must have reservations here. We observed at least 10 people turned away as drop ins. Bozeman is a busy city and great restaurants like this are fully booked several days in advance. Thanks Hank and Lisa for a great meal. Marv and Molly

We had the most wonderful evening at the South 9th Bistro. I mentioned our anniversary when I made the reservation and we were greeted with a warm happy anniversary greeting when we walked in the door. Service was attentive but not intrusive but made us feel like special guests. I have a severe spice allergy and the server was able to check with the chef and made me feel like they really cared about making my meal safe and delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly and had sauces that made every bite special. We also enjoyed the crack tart and a chocolate cake and they were delicious. I loved the little touches, like coffee served in a French press with cup, cream and sugar cubes on a little tray, & frosted glass for my husbands beer. It is not inexpensive, but the cost was definitely appropriate given the Bistro's attention to all the little details in service, ingredients, preparation and presentation. For those dining during Covid times, I saw tables being sanitized, indoor tables were spaced apart from one another with a lot of distance between parties and there was a lovely garden area for those wishing to dine outdoors.
