My husband and I had dinner at Montana’s Rib and Chop House on Friday April 5, 24. We started with the fried green tomato appetizer. Very good. My entree was absolutely delicious. I ordered a house salad as a side with blue cheese dressing. They make their blue cheese dressing in house and it’s delicious! I had the special, it was a blackened Halibut with a crab topping on top of a light cream sauce and sauté spinach and this was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately my husband did not enjoy his entree as much as I did. He ordered the 9 ounce filet medium rare and it came out medium. He ordered Garlic mushrooms and got garlic mashed potatoes. We each ordered crème Brûlée for dessert and was brought one to share. The server did correct this. Our server was training a new server and the new server did not know anything about the menu. I would think a new server would study the menu it’s kinda like your tools for your job. Overall it’s a great restaurant with a very nice atmosphere and good food. But the service could use some work. We will definitely be back.

I've had dinner here twice now. The first time, I had the salmon, a side salad, and fresh spinach. We shared the fried shrimp appetizer. Loved the shrimp, but the fries that accompanied it were the same awful Sysco precut and preseasoned ones that Applebee's serves, and i always avoid there. My salmon was way overcooked, and the spinach was so oversalted that it was inedible. There was so much (not fresh) salad on the plate that touching it with my fork caused a large part of it to spill onto the table, making a big mess. Our server was great, so we left a generous tip. My second visit was for my adult son's birthday. We ordered the shrimp appetizer again but didn't touch the Applebee's fries. My side caesar salad had easily enough dressing on it for 5 salads, and the romaine had seen far better days. My pork chop was good, but the fresh green beans hadn't been properly trimmed, making them look very unappealing. Also, I asked specifically for No Pepper and saw the waitress make that note on our ticket. Instead, they arrived covered with a strange "seasoning combo" that included a whopping portion of black pepper. It isn't that I dislike pepper; it's that very much of it causes me to become ill. And it's not an allergy but a permanent side effect of chemotherapy. Don't get me wrong. I WANT to frequent your restaurant, and Great Falls needs an upscale place like yours. I love that you have a good Sauvignon Blanc by the glass! And I wanted to gave the option of a second glass recently, but our service was so rushed, I had barely finished my first glass when dinner was over! Pls, you need to make some adjustments. Pls, pls slow down the courses. When I spend $135 for 2 of us, I'd like to relax a bit and enjoy it. Pls stop seasoning fresh vegetables within an inch of their lives; that's a task for the individual diner at her table. And pls serve homemade fries, thus making them available without heavy seasonings. Last, how about smaller, *fresher* salads? I will return to your establishment because the atmosphere is very inviting, and you serve good wine by the glass, but I'd appreciate some needed improvements being made. Thank you for listening.

The food was meh. The appetizer shrimp was great but their fries are not: old, cold, and chewy. Good side salad. I was going to get a main salad but all had meat. And ranch out of the bottle ? No vegetables on the menu that I could find. At their prices the food could be better. The bar is cool. Our waiter was attentive but another waiter kept walking by giving me the side eye. A man came out at one point and asked how our food was and no one else. Weird vibe. I have zero idea why. I’m a a 5’4” 130 lb woman. I was wearing my down jacket because it was freezing. Sounds paranoid but my companions agreed. Will not be coming back.

This was our second time, the first was with our two small littles and the second was just mom and dad. Our Waitress remembered us from the first time, last year! And she was as kind as ever. Yummy food, good time, didn’t have to wait long for anything. Heather- you are the best!!

Took a friend and with a reservation and was quickly seated. Quick and helpful service, (thank you Justin for an awesome experience and for answering all our questions. Seemed a little high priced until I tasted it. The food was Amazing! Definitely planning on coming back when I can!Parking: Somewhat limited parking on the street, meters from 9-5. Such a beautiful restaurant in downtown Great Falls with completely disappointing table service & very average food. Chicken wings were dry & over cooked, wedge salad was small with very little else, and signature rib dinner was dry, over cooked, and imposdible to cut. Waitress came to the table glum & basically disappeared while we ate.

My meal was not as good as I had heard, but didn't mention it to our server. I just ate what I wanted and left the rest. She noticed, and took it off our bill!! Then the floor manager came over and apologized too - plus offered us a gift card to come back another time. We live in Canada and were just visiting, but I was simply astounded by this type of service!!!
