My absolute favorite place to "wine" down. Everyone there really knows the wines but more importantly they get to know you and your individual tastes. The meats and cheeses are the highest quality and there is a great selection of wines by the glass or the bottle for whatever you crave. it's one of the best businesses in Helena.

I travel a lot for work and this is the best place I have ever been for a quiet drink as a woman traveling alone. Service was impeccable. Wine selection was sublime and thoughtfully presented. This is my favorite place to buy wine in Helena--have found a few new favorites! This is my top desired place to get a gift card from. It is also fun to sit and try one of their cocktails or tapas, charcuterie, etc. In the summer, sitting outside and having frosé is a must, or being cozy inside during the winter with some grog is a must.

We go all the time and recieve great service and great reccomendations. Very unpretentious about letting you try things out if you aren't a big wine drinker. Grace has provided great service the last few visits we have had.

My wife and I came back here for our anniversary from the valley since we normally don't make it downtown and it was a wonderful experience! The ambiance was great, the food was delicious, and the servers were friendly and extremely attentive. Unfortunately, we sat at the bar and overheard some servers talking about how they're struggling to make ends meet with their job here. I was surprised since this is a fine dining place that gets a lot of traffic. $10/hr?? My wife and I were a little disappointed, we hoped Helena business owners would take better care of their employees. That aside, we had an amazing night and the service was great!

WOW. A friend of mine brought me here while I was visiting from out of town and my experience has me considering moving to Helena, too! Grace hit the nail on the head with my picky taste in wine, then set us up with the perfect bottle to take home for dinner (don’t tell my friends I didn’t pick it out myself, lol!)We also got a cheese board + Nutella pudding as per her recommendation as well, and wow, what a recommendation it was. Love the Hawthorne. Can’t wait to come back!

Food selections are very creative and delicious. We had the cheese plate, horseradish dip and chips and charcuterie plate. Loved them all. Right on the pedestrian street with entertainment on some summer evenings.
