Absolutely phenomenal menu and food. Wine menu was outstanding. They dont ruin the bread pudding by putting raisins in it. (Humor intended) Dessert was wonderful. Will be back. Even met some really nice locals at the bar. Whole staff made us feel like VIPs even though it was our first visit.

We absolutely love this place!! Friendly service, excellent mixologists, amazing food, good sized portions, and fantastic atmosphere! We've been here twice and have love absolutely everything. The Carrots are a particular favorite but everything has been perfectly cooked and delicious. Highly recommend if you're looking for a spot for a special occasion but we're planning on checking out the happy hour sometime soon as well.

My husband and I have come here for both of our birthdays and we have always had amazing, very friendly and accommodating service and exquisite food every time. We had some dietary restrictions and they worked with us happily. We will always recommend 1889.

Best steak in town, no question! And prepared to your liking every time! We have been patrons of 1889 since their opening and we feel the operation has stayed consistently great, year after year. The staff is awesome and the GM, Renee, is fabulous!

The food was amazing. I had the rib eye steak. It was cooked perfectly. We also had side of the brussell sprouts and the Mac n cheese. Both were great.

I had a wonderful birthday meal. I really like that the meals are easy to share. Harley was our server and she was outstanding.

Want to spend $200 minimum and have to use your phone flash light to see the menu..let alone the people in which you’re dining with??? If so, this is the place for you!! Head chef is bland, uncreative and there’s weird mixes of southern cuisine in the menu?? We aren’t in the south!! Why collard greens and things like grits or apple butter on the menu? Never been to a steakhouse that offers apple butter. Our server Scott, is probably the only redeeming factor. Not only attentive and knowledgeable…but ridiculously accommodating when our food took over an hour to come out and was cold to the bone. He should be the general manager of this establishment over that woman who was walking around. Her attitude was as cold as her gray hair. Disappointed is an understatement. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!

Had a filet cooked to perfection with the best scallops we have ever eaten. Service attentive and friendly. A great quiet atmosphere for a special night out.

My recent visit to 1889 Steakhouse was a mixed bag, with notable highs and lows. While the concept of à la carte can offer flexibility, here it felt excessive. Charging for minor additions, like $1 for an olive in a martini or $4 for a sauce on a $55 steak, seemed over the top. This trend extended to simple substitutions, like a $5 charge for replacing mashed potatoes with a basic salad.Service glitches added to the frustration. Our group faced long waits, only to receive several dishes cold. However, most dishes were tasty, which was a redeeming factor. But the overall experience was dampened by the feeling of being nickel-and-dimed on an already hefty bill.Given the premium prices, a more customer-friendly approach to extras would enhance the dining experience. We left feeling that for about half the cost, one could enjoy a similar or better experience at places like the Mercantile in Kalispell or Heist in Bozman, where the focus is more on customer satisfaction than squeezing every last dollar. This was a shame, as the potential for a truly enjoyable visit to 1889 Steakhouse was evident but overshadowed by its pricing strategy.

The food was good. My husband got the pork tenderloin and it was delicious. It was a full meal with polenta and greens. I got the sirloin and it comes with potatoes but no veggies. I had to order them on the side for an extra charge. You have to pay for every part of the experience. The bread is on the starters menu. I didn't like this part because when I go to a high end place I expect them to manage their prices to include everything in the meal. The hostess was great, very welcoming. The server was attentive but I felt like she was rushing us a bit. Overall a good experience. But the restaurant was cold. I recommend that you get a booth or wear a sweater if you go when it's cold outside.

If you are craving a steak I would recommend stopping here. It was one of the greatest filet mignon I have had in a long time. Not a big fan of taking before photos of food but here’s proof I liked it!
